Anyone have any LSU or Cajun bars in Chicago? I'm moving there in a few weeks and could use some recommendations

Yep, The Standard in Wicker Park is the main LSU bar. It's a solid place.

I recommend going for brunch when LSU plays 11a games.

friend of mine moved there over the summer...lives not far from Depaul's campus. Loves it.

Barstool just opened a new bar this weekend that has been slam packed... it was opening weekend, but I'm sure it may slow down some. So many great options in CHI

The great city of Chicago, (one of the few that exist in this country) isn’t for backward cavemen ??

Standard for LSU and the Frontier for the Saints. I live in a subburb and head into the city a few times a year for games. Great atmospheres.

And all the bullet jokes are hilarious. Almost like BR and Nola are some bastions of peace and prosperity.

The ultimate irony is that most making those jokes are likely in Houston.

4th place - New Orleans
5th place - Baton Rogue

Toons, Becks, and Pearls are all owned by my really good friend Danny Beck. Each place is differnt but awesome. Toons and Becks are HUGE KC Chiefs bars because my friend is from Kansas City. Toons is usually packed for Chief games, so would be a fun place to watch the playoffs. Toons does a huge crawfish boil every year, and often has Eric Lindell play. Pearls serves south Louisiana food if you're feeling homesick.

Piece Pizza and Brewery is on North Ave. in Wicker Park, and owned by another good friend Bill Jacobs. He started Piece after he and his brothers sold their original bagel business. They brought New Haven style pizza to Chicago. They also are an award winning brewery and have some of the best beer in Chicago.

Bro Bagel is the new bagel place he opened next to Piece after the non-compete clause they signed expired. Really good bagels, made the traditional way.

If you go to any of these and see either Bill or Danny, tell them I said the boil is on in '22. They'll know.

Went for the bama basketball game in ‘19 (mays/waters alley oop game) was cold as shite outside but good atmosphere inside. In ‘16 i went for the ole miss football game when fournette ran wild and it was packed. Ended up going across the street to Emporium.

DS tequila i think is the new “official” bar at least for the chicago alumni group. But standard is still a great spot.
