My 2 cents (somewhat light-hearted).

I don't condone the crudity during Neck. However, I think Alleva should MAKE the band play it and the students say it repeatedly (like Rocky Top style) during day games on TV until we make ourselves odious for CBS and they never, ever, again broadcast a day game from TS.

On a slightly more serious line, if the students begin to interject crudity in unison during the National Anthem or Alma Mater, are these too going to be banned?

I really think Alleva needs to rethink his response.

Look, if people in charge think change is necessary due to profanity and vulgarity, and thus eliminating traditions old and new, then maybe it's time to re-think the attitude of promoting such profanity and vulgarity.

This song was played at the beginning of the Auburn game before kick-off
It was also played before kick off of at least one other game this season. Someone please tell me how the administration won't allow the band to play songs like Neck and Tiger Rag when they blare songs like this over the loud speakers.

I don't think anyone would do that. I wouldn't hold it past anyone, but I think most people have more common sense than that.
Plus, they put the words to both on the screen for everyone to read. If people are drunk enough to do something like that, hopefully they just read the words and forget about it.

Well that does it, get rid of the student section all together. While they are at it, don't allow tailgating, and give everyone a breathalyzer test that comes into the student section. Can't have anyone getting out of hand.

Dude, shut the frick up already.

All we are asking is that the students show up, be loud, and stay past halftime. Get crazy. Do what you have to do. A good time can be had by all without chanting phrases that contain "dick" and "bitch". Is it that hard to comprehend?

I still have not heard why oh we oh was banned.
I mean, I know during South Carolina, people ended it with you suck cock, but that was the only time I heard it.

Didn't you already say this topic has been beaten to death?
Go play somewhere else.

Oh no, I understand why they got rid of it.
That really wasn't the point of the thread, but some people just want to come hate on the student section. And I am not sure why. It's not like they are going anywhere.

This is a college sport. The athletes are students, the band members are students, and a lot of what makes tiger stadium so loud and such a great atmosphere are the students.

Nobody is arguing this with you. Loud does not equal vulgar. You can be loud and NOT vulgar. Get it?

I know I am somewhat tone deaf, but I knew I couldn't have been wrong on that.

It's literally seconds before kick off. All players for both teams are on the field waiting for the whistle.

Just checked the DVR and I can 100% hear that song on ESPNU when we played UAB.
