Very very few in today's student section have a clue re the significance of not playing it from the top. Actually kinda shocking they still don't play it.

There was a part where everyone would point at the other team and yell assholes. Nobody cared for 15 years until TV money became a bigger thing and you could clearly hear what we were saying during an ESPN broadcast.

TR was taken out of rotation in the Assembly Center around 1980. Not sure if reinstated later.

The word “arse” is said on TV and radio all the time. Not sure why there is a fine for that word.

Promise to play neck in the fourth quarter so the students stay. Then play it during a tv timeout, use the new tv timeout clock to stop playing when the game is back live.

It's not the students anymore. It's all the baws and bawettes in the stadium now. It's not like just because a new crop of students come in, it's a blank canvas. All of those people are still coming to the game and know the STTDB, and a-hole chant from Tiger Rag. That shite ain't never coming back.

I was a student when they caved on tiger rag. My brother and I still used to chant Hahahahaha Assholes after the anthem every game. I got kicked out of my last game (ole piss 06) as a student for doing it. They also gave me a ticket and mandated I go to some kind of ethics course before I graduated.
Ryan Perrilloux was in that course with me, and against my better judgement, I let him bum cigs from me those three nights.

This is the answer and it’s obvious. You want students to stay past halftime? Play their song so they can feel cool and cussing in a stadium. Commercial breaks and you play it. Keep the fans involved during the timeout.
