- The SEC again led the way among conferences, upping its record to 78,018 – a three percent gain from last year.
- In addition to beating Michigan on the field, Ohio State took the attendance national championship away from the Wolverines. Ohio State led the way with a 106,296 average, while Michigan placed third behind Texas A&M at 104,909.
- The five biggest gainers among Power Five schools: Texas A&M (up 21 percent), Maryland (14 percent), LSU (11 percent), Mississippi State (10 percent), Rutgers/Florida State/UCLA (nine percent). Texas A&M, LSU and Mississippi State each had stadium expansions from this season to last, Maryland and Rutgers had a new conference to sell, and Florida State and UCLA each had a tremendous amount of optimism entering this season.
- The overall top five: Ohio State (106,296), Texas A&M (105,123), Michigan (104,909), LSU (101,723) and Penn State (101,623).
- The bottom five: Akron (9,170), Ball State (9,389), Florida International (11,966), New Mexico State (12,269), and Idaho (12,886).
And, finally, one depressing note to end on: UAB led the nation with a whopping 107 percent increase. This is the same UAB program that recently dropped football.

Those are clearly paid attendance numbers, as opposed to actual fannies in the seats.

1) The SEC HQ will begin working on a plan to correct the problem
2) Alabama will wait 15-20 years then revise the stats to show they were at the top
3) Rivals will quickly devalue attendance numbers and only give them three stars

Doesn't matter, if they took attendance at half a lot of teams would be below 50k

A&M didn't seem like it had more seating than LSU. Then again I was pretty tipsy

These are attendance numbers, not capacity numbers. My guess is when the LSU game is at Alabama next season, they will be in that position or higher.

ARK, UF, and TAMU all had huge sections unattended against us. Not full then left early, but simply unattended. With the exception of TAMU, bc it was a meaningless game on Thanksgiving we are doing fine. Leaving early is better than not showing up at all for an SEC game.

With regards to bama's numbers, Finebaum said that it was impossible to find tickets for Alabama and Auburn this yr. Totally ignoring Moo St & the black bears' sell outs this season. Guess he was just winging it if these numbers are valid.

You could buy any LSU home game this season at well below face including the Bama game. LSU wont release the actual numbers but Bama is the only game that went over 95K.

So what? It's the same way for virtually every school and it relates to an increase in revenue. It isn't as if they didn't sell the tickets. In addition, I was in attendance at the State, Ole Miss and Bama games and I can tell you those butts were in the seats.

I am telling you that the house was FULL at the MSU, Ole Miss, and Bama games. By the way, if you bought a ticket for a damn dollar it has nothing to do with LSU because they already sold the tickets for face value. The person taking the loss is the seller not LSU. The people who buy tickets and are no shows have already paid for the right to attend or not attend.
If LSU doesn't have all the butts in the seats for Sam Houston State but it was sold out LSU still made the money. The only thing that is affected is concessions. Not even parking is affected as it is paid for whether you use the pass or not. Attendance at rent a win games has always been like that and always will be that way. Many people buy the season ticket package just to get tickets for the big games and give the others away. I know my family does. So what?

With all due respect, tipsy or not, I would be impressed if you could look at two stadium of over 100K and realistically tell the difference between 101k and 105k.

To me it didn't look like it could hold 100k. There are some big gaps in the corners with no seating that make it look closer to 90k.
