LSU arrived in Tupelo,Ms.

This afternoon about 4:00, LSU flew into the Tupelo,Ms. airport. They are staying here for the Miss. St. game. They boarded buses to go to the Hilton downtown. We saw many LSU fans welcoming LSU to the Hotel. They had LSU shirts, hats, etc. Fans were across the street at the newly developed downtown restaurant/tourist area. Also, Talk radio was talking about all the LSU fans touring Elvis Presley's childhood home, a few blocks east in Tupelo. I was glad to see fans from my old home here in Tupelo, where I now live. It's a 53 mile drive to State tomorrow for the game. Geaux Tigers.

Interested to know why they chose Tupelo over normal Columbus and if they'll do same for Ole Miss instead of Memphis.

Because the normal hotel in Columbus is being renovated. That's why they are staying in Tupelo this trip.

They used to come to Tupelo for the Ole Miss game too, and bus over. About 4 years ago LSU flew in to our airport and I went out to greet them with about 15 other people. I got to meet a player from my hometown Bastrop, Rueban Randle and a lineman from home. It was great. They now stay south of Memphis in the newly developed NW Ms. area, Tunica, for the OM game.

We stayed in that hotel 3 weeks ago and one of the couples with us found a bed bug in their room. I hope they got that fixed.

That Hilton garden inn is my go-to spot when I am in the Tupelo area...damn restaurant right across the parking lot, too!
