The airport in Syracuse is a decent size (more than twice as busy as BR). Doesn't seem like it would be difficult to get a connecting flight there, especially out of New Orleans.

Where is the nearest major airport near Syracuse?
SYR airport (closest and biggest) is about a 10/15 min drive from campus north of the city. Rochester (ROC) is a little over an hr west, Buffalo (BUF) 2 hrs west, Binghamton (BGM) an hr south, Elmira (ELM) an hr 45 min SW. Syracuse has one stop connections from BR on US Airways (Charlotte) and Delta (Atlanta), I think the buffalo airport is slightly bigger than the syracuse airport, but pretty sure all or most of those airports above have at least one flight to atlanta so you only have to stop once. If flying from nola you've got a bunch more options

Thanks for the info. I just did a quick check on google maps to see nearest major cities, but didn't realize Syracuse had an airport with major connections.
