I do not care for Alleva. However anyone that thinks he made the suspension decision is not very smart.

IMO LSU overreacted to the media. Most of this was known already. The media.. dick vitale etc are pretty selectivein their outrage.. for example why is Sean Miller still coaching. Why is Townsend the Kansas assistant still coaching. Why is Zion Williamson eligible.

Anyway. We will lose NAz Waters. Smart and some of our recruits. Maybe all of the National recruits.

Shortly after the tournament is over. If I was LSU I would go after Kermit Davis very hard.

Though Alleva has not earned the benefit of the doubt on anything, he really doesn’t have a whole lot to do with what’s going on. Alexander was the one who suspended Wade.

As far as your point, nah. Everybody on earth knows what Wade and Smart are guilty of, and though none of us has a moral problem with it, we all know it’s against the rules in a way that can hurt the program. The minute LSU and all of us learned of what could hurt the program, LSU took action. It was undeniably the right thing to do. The only way LSU wasn’t going to suspend Wade and Smart is if Wade convinced LSU that there was nothing to worry about, and Wade didn’t even show up to plead his case. He took the advice of his lawyers and chose not to be loyal to LSU or to his players. We all understand why he did it, but he reports to LSU when LSU demands he do so, or he doesn’t get to do the job.

Spot on.

Luckily for LSU's administration, the basketball team pulled their own weight so the season isn't screwed, yet. The basketball team did the administration a huge favor to where they can right their wrongs, and honestly it will go mostly forgotten. Now the administration just needs to do the smart thing, rather than throwing up all over themselves again. I personally have no faith that they'll do the right thing. Nobody with big enough balls to.

What you said about them isn’t mutually exclusive. They are fully capable of lying while being the dumbest mf’s this side of the Mississippi, don’t sell them short.

There's a lot of really dumb people posting right now.

Allevas just an easy target for their anger.

The same Alexander that was quoted as saying in November 2015, “do you hear what they are saying about us on espn, they are talking bad about us.” Therefore he made the call to not fire Les Miles.

That same guy? Does this sound familiar? Alexander is folding because national news media tweeted bad words about Will Wade. The national media, who don’t give a s*#% about LSU.

As you said, this should be about LSU first, not what Dick Vitale says. Not was Greg Sankey says. This should be about LSU, its team, and its fans.

If it takes sacrificing Wade to get Alleva out, I'd take that deal.

And it is. Will Wade’s actions are (understandably) about Will Wade, so bye boi. Wade has offered no reason why we have nothing to worry about, and in failing to do so, he effectively threw his player under the bus and prevented himself for being there with his team when they won an SEC title.

LSU deserves better than that, and Wade will do better than that, or he won’t coach at LSU. Admins did the right thing.

The job of the administration should be to protect the University.

Wade made the choice here, he could be coaching had he cooperated.

The "team" is still virtually intact. They just won an SEC championship and should do very well in the post season.

It's Wade's choice to be where he is right now. He's looking out for himself.

Then Wade made his choice. Aleva didnt decide to clam up. Doesn’t Wade have a responsibility to “have the University’s back”.

You do realize that if Wade is fired, most (if not all) of this year’s team is walking. And so are the recruits. LSU basketball is not a strong enough program to recover from this. I’ll take a decade to get past this. If it ever does.

The administration did nothing wrong. Wade was asked to explain himself, and he refused, according to Ross Dellenger who was given the comments directly by Alleva himself so it must be true.
