Crappy choice, but it's better than tulame, and all the other in state schools.
Food for thought:
How many of us bitched about Troy being on the sch a few years ago...... Going even further back, what about Houston and UAB?
LSU gets nothing out of playing a team like this. If we win.... It's forgotten the next morning, if they play us close or pull an upset..... It's devastating to LSU football.

There will always and should be teams like that on our schedule. We play in the SEC and should have 1 or 2 low level FBS schools on the schedule. But this is utter dogshit.

SOS doesnt count towards rankings anymore, correct?
If so, it does not matter who we play if we win them all.

Not even in the list of TigerDroppings favorite teams for your profile.

...hmmmm... seems a bit of "over-reaction" to this year's schedule.
This game is a waste of time ....

I think we should save a home game every year for the best team of the previous year out of:
Nicholls, Southeastern, Southern, Grambling, McNeese, Northwestern, ULM.
So either McNeese or Northwestern then, huh?

Wow, bunch of geniuses in our Athletic Department scheduling this.

WHO the Frick wants to go watch LSU play Towson?!?!
I can't believe than many people will go watch this. Tailgate and go home. Sends a message to the AD.

All of those teams would beat the crap out of Towson. LSU should be able to handle playing a decent small school. This is sad.

Towson is near Baltimore and is no doubt most famous for producing Dave Meggett formerly of NY Giants fame. They play good football on a small scale but on occasion produce some decent players. They should NOT EVER be on the Tigers schedule !!
Living close to PSU I also get angry that Penn State will schedule an Eastern Iliinois or worse Akron. Many people ridicule Boise but they will play outside the conference and usually play well.

Their AD is Mike Waddell. I wonder if he's related to the Michael Waddell from the Bone Collectors Hunting Show? Maybe they are coming in on a black powder hunt?? WHo knows! At any rate, I'd rather we play ULL, McNeese or some other worthwhile state school who could use the extra money.

Cant see people showing up for this game and paying to park.

Posted on 8/4/11 at 10:37 pm to Chicken
Honestly, if LSU fans really want to make a statement, particularly season ticket holders, they just need to not show up for this game. If LSU only has 30,000 people at this game they will lose a ton of money on concessions and other fees.
I love LSU, but this proves how lazy our AD office is, and in particular Verge Ausberry. There has to be a better quality opponent out there than Towson, but it's obvious he likely didn't even try hard and figures LSU fans will just tow the line.

Go and enjoy the younger kids getting a chance to play. Our schedule is tough enough. We need a break.
Get some players healthy. We play in the toughest conference, like an open date for the players, hopefully.
