What did orgeron do to make you think he was a good hire?

There is much to be said about the continuity of coaches when changing a head coach. Look at what's going on this year at Georgia...not so good. Look at the past decade at Tennessee. Look at Texas over the last three years.

Having a head coach that has been on the team for two years and keeping, I'm guessing, about half of the current staff... Will be much less disruptive, but a new coach coming in and starting Frim scratch can lead to Georgia results.

Personally , I think Tom Herman is Kevin Sumlin 2.0. The Texas 2017 recruiting classes right now is ranked 61st, while LSU's is ranked 5th. Herman went for the big bucks at Dumpster Fire University, rather than scenario where he could be the most successful, with a top DC in place. Sure, he'll get his $6 million a year, but he's walking into a dumpster fire.

GEAUX OEAUX AND MAY GOD BLESS THE LSU TIGERS!

Wow, you just don't let things go do you? You should check out Tom Landry's first three years with the Dallas Cowboys. There is this thing called a learning curve. He has done a very good job for us under very difficult circumstances. He also did a great job for USC under similar circumstances. We should have beaten Florida, but, if they beat FSU today that won't look so bad either.

Come on, man. Tom Landry became Dallas' coach in their first year of existence. Of course they sucked for some time. I don't think O will be Ole Miss bad at LSU, but it is relevant experience. He did pretty good at USC, but his last game there was a 21-point blowout loss at home to their rivals, UCLA. The next interim coach came in and won their bowl game by 20+ points.

I don't see Florida beating FSU, but you never know. It still won't make that loss better. We had them at home and 1/3 of their starters were out. We were favored by 14. I think O has improved his demeanor and does let his coaches coach (which are positives), but he just hasn't shown that he personally gives us an edge against the better teams.

No. LSU just hired a career DL coach to run their program. It was a horrible hire anyway you look at it. frick alleva

This plus the cupboard isn't bare by any means. It's all set up to win. LSU is going to be OK.

Another thing. Coach O knows his limitations and a man that has that knowledge is ahead of the game. Good times are coming.

I agree. And this is another reason Aranda won't go to Texas. He has a great defense, great recruits coming in and that would not even be a lateral move. He has said he wants to be a head coach and LSU defense shortens his path versus Texas defense.

Well, at times I wondered if Les Miles was really concerned about winning!!

I don't know, record setting offensive performances, won games against solid competition, had a chance against both the east and west SEC champs. Apart from that, he sucked really bad. Oh...and the players will run through a wall for him, so....

Ole Miss was ten years ago! You think he has learned nothing since then after watching this team play? I can't help you there. The USC team he inherited was decimated by sanctions and probably should not have won a single game. He lost to a very talented UCLA team. That proves nothing. Saban lost to UL Monroe...stuff happens.

Maybe you would rather have Petrino? he is getting ready to lose to Kentucky. There is no such thing as a homerun hire not named Saban.

I'll make 2 comments:

1. 1/128 college football teams were considering hiring Orgeron as Head Coach.

2. Every single SEC coach has a better resume than Orgeron.
