There are plenty of options where we don’t know how they would perform in this situation. Guidry has been in the situation and started just as most of us assumed he would. Hopefully he settles in. But I would not have been upset to see Cowan, Paz, ricken, or even giving Williams a shot. Guidry started this game with an ERA over seven. He’s only had a few outings where he has been able to shut people down. Those outings are not the norm for him.
