I wish the NCAA would ban the shift
Posted on 4/3/26 at 4:42 pm to mdomingue
LSU would have 20 more home runs if this were their home park. Well, at least 10

Tennessee with a base hit through the spot where 2nd base has played for 150 years.

I wonder what the percentage the shift works when LSU does it? Pretty low I’d think

Evan’s offspeed has been nasty so far

People want the NCAA to ban the shift but LSU isn’t forced to shift. They do it on their own accord.

Considering Jay is an analytics guy, I would suspect it works more often than not if he still does it.

They’d do it less if they had a better defensive 2b

Evans looks much more comfortable on this road mound than he did at Vanderbilt.

A small but important tidbit, Evans has given up more free passes (12 walks, 3 hit batters) than hits(12) vs SEC teams
