Same reason Michigan is still ahead of TCU. Do a resume comparison of TCU and Michigan and tell me they are ranked where they are supposed to be.
Problem with CFP, and why certain presidents and ADs don’t want it changed, is it is still subjective by the eye test and the blue bloods get a bump and benefit based on what they think ratings will work. With an expanded playoff, they lose all that but there was too much of a public push

USC will lose 2 more. Not sure why they jumped us.

#8 Alabama
#9 Tennessee
Hmmm I wonder if Rece still believes in head to head

Not true, a one loss USC team will get in over one loss OSU/Michigan because of conference championship

Correct. No D out west as usual.

RE: USC.. "The Committee" is clearly playing to a Large Market Audience (LA). That's bad business... and screws LSU.

With some crazy losses to wrap up the season, wouldn’t be shocked to see Bama weasel their way in.

Not sure why people insist on thinking USC will do anything. They will get rolled if they make the playoffs
Their defense is nonexistent

I’m trying to come to grips with the fact I have to be a Norte Dame fan for at least one game. It’s really hard to think about

This wouldn’t even be an issue if LSU admin wouldn’t have screwed up the schedule. Two years in a row they took an opening loss because they let a team get a tune up game before we even played. Just extremely stupid management.
This potential problem sits at the feet of the athletic department management.

There will be no 2 loss teams in the playoffs.

My favorite scenario is:
LSU wins out
TCU wins out
UGA finishes with 1 loss
Ohio St beats Mich, then somehow loses Big10 title game
SC loses to either ND or Oregon
Then you get:
1. TCU
2. UGA
3. OSU
4. LSU
-or if they don't want to drop UGA from 1 and to avoid a SEC Title rematch
1. UGA
2. TCU
3. LSU
4. OSU
It's like this entire thread forgot Clemson exists.

A loss to a top 16 team will have LSU out of a NY6 bowl. Makes sense lmfao. Logic. SMH

And playing up the “strength” of the Pac-12. Six teams ranked as opposed to five for the SEC. The wheels are already moving..

If LSU wins out they are in. No way an SEC champion does not get in. They lose to Georgia then they are out.

As an LSU fan, I still can admit there is zero reason why Tennessee shouldn’t still be in the top 10 over a few of those two loss teams.
Just not LSU of course.

That's cool. Go beat Georgia in Atlanta.

The FSU debacle will keep LSU out of NY6.
???? actually LSU would prefer to win out and be in the final 4–but beating aTm & losing to GA I. The SECCG may still leave us ranked higher that anyone else in the SEC, which means the Sugar Bowl….of one of the 3 NY6 bowls without a conference affiliation.
