simpletons like you who are incapable of rational thought just resort to "we need to fire X coach" when something doesn't go right. it's pointless arguing with you because you aren't smart enough to listen to anything else. From last year's team that went to the CWS finals, we lost 4 every day starters and our best bats in the lineup. We lost our entire starting rotation and some key arms out of the bullpen. Then, to boot, we have been missing arguably our best returning player since the first weekend of the year and two of our best bats (Watson and Broussard) have missed bug chunks of the season hurt. Storz has been hurt most of the season. Gilbert has been hurt. Bryce Jordan has been hurt. And even with all of this going on, we are 2nd in the West.
But yeah, a hitting coach is totally going to change everything
And if you had paid any attention, our hitting coach is only Sean ochinko because our actual hitting coach had surgery and was physically unable to assume the role this season. Our hitting was fine last year with Gibbs.This post was edited on 4/21/18 at 4:49 pm

With the injuries we've had and the current state of the team, it's difficult to imagine salvaging this season.
It's hard to fault Mainieri for much but he may need to rethink his recruiting strategy and it sure seems that we have more arm issues with the pitching staff year after year than other top programs.

The Florida Gators had a losing record a season removed from a final appearance. They are not above attrition or a bad season either. We had a 6 year run of being a top 8 team. it wasn't going to last forever. That doesn't mean the program is burning down.

correct and they didn't lose as much as we did either.
Everyone who paid attention knew coming into the season this was a rebuilding year. That doesn't mean our players and coaches suck. It is what it is. We went through the same after our 2009 title season, lost most of that team and struggled after.
