Me and couple of my friends were comparing this year's team to the 23 team.If you could combine the 23 and 25 team what would be your starting line up..Starting line up and your weekend rotation

Probably sounds dumb to most, but I think I’d rather Hernandez or milazzo at catcher. Otherwise, I agree.

Floyd/Eyanson

CF - Crews
RF - Brown
DH - Jones
3B - White
SS - Milam
2B - Dugas

I understand Travinski is the better hitter but Milazzo was a wall behind the plate.

Honestly, the DH role is probably the toughest part of this question. There’s about 6 dudes who could fight for this

Let bear DH while Morgan does his highlight reel first base

Going into postseason I can’t give Floyd that third spot. Nobody predicted what he was for us going into regionals was going to be what he gave us. I remember solid right until he wasn’t and it being an absolute wall he’d hit. Both Anderson and eyanson have work through ability proven. I’m struggling with jones not being in dh capacity and I get it Browns killing it against righties but if you only get one right now who would you have in today?

Eyanson is very legit but Floyd was awesome in the CWS. It’s a toss up IMO

I’m pretty sure between the 2 it’s eyanson by a mile. But honestly if we are compairing teams, we should be comparing who is our best sunday starter from both seasons. Which is floyd I guess. I dont know that anyone has really nailed down the 3rd starter since labas

This would be my lineup as well

I hear you for sure. Eyanson is awesome but I can’t forget Ty Floyd’s performance in the entire World Series

Agree with that as well. To me the following are locks:
LF - Curiel
CF - Crews
3B - White
SS - Milam
2B - Dickinson
1B - Morgan
C - Hernandez
So the question becomes what to do with the 3rd outfield spot and DH.
I actually think there’s a strong argument to put Stanfield in the outfield over Jobert. In conference play this year, Stanny leads the team in BA and is 2nd in OB%. He isn’t a HR hitter but man you’ve got plenty of power in that lineup. And his defense is very good. The flip side is that Jobert gives you another left-handed bat.
I think the answer at DH is probably Bear but I think Travinski, Frey, Jobert (LH), Pearson (LH), and Brown (LH) are also candidates. Still.. it’s hard to leave Bear out of that lineup.
ETA: I find myself surprised at how many players from the ‘25 team I would take over the ‘23 team. When I look at the lineups, it seems like the biggest difference (other than Skenes) is how much power we had in ‘23. You had 8 guys with double-digit home runs whereas the ‘25 team currently has 4.

Well of course, but Eyanson hasn’t had a chance to perform well in that scenario or not. As it stands right now Eyanson has a 2.88 ERA and Floyd has a 4.35 ERA.
