The QB situation is good enough to go 9-3 or 10-2 and that's good enough to keep Les on board and the positigers happy.

What is a quarterback, Alex. Now I'll take answers to dumb questions that rantards ask for $200 please.

Please don't say "swag". It's confidence.

Yea by all means lets give the qb spot to the guy that turned it over 22 times for ND last season.

In a wide open, pass happy offense with almost no run game or any semblance of a defense. Golson had to do it ALL.

We are loaded at just about every position on the field.... Except QB. We are as talented as anyone in the nation at every spot outside of the QB spot.

You can have all the swag and talent you want, but if the QB play is bad it won't matter. Without a passing threat, we will once again be a 1 dimensional offense that is very easy to game plan for, facing stacked boxers majority of the time, wasting our talent at the WR position, and putting an enormous amount of pressure on our D.

And for that reason, Harris should be the starter IMO. He's just on a different level than Jennings in terms of talent and passing ability and would force teams to respect the passing attack. He can make throws that Jennings just can't make and we have already seen that. His best throw all year was vs Miss St. We had the ball on the left hash and we ran a deep out to the right sideline and Harris dropped it in perfectly between 2 defenders. Jennings just can't make that throw. You won't be able to stack the box and just go man up on our WRs with Harris at the helm. Teams are willing to take that risk vs Jennings until he proves them other wise.

And imagine how much that would open up our rushing attack, which is still our bread and butter. I'm still amazed that LF averaged 5.5ypc as a true freshman in a 1 dimensional offense going against stacked boxed majority of the time. We have a stacked OL and our RB group could be as good as it's ever been. LF is a complete stud and 1 of the most talented players in the land. DWill and Ducre are very big downhill runners that can hurt defenses. And Guice is crazy explosive at 215+lbs and is an extremely physical runner as well who will excel up the middle as well. He runs very very angry, think Cadillac Williams at Auburn. And then you have Brossette who shattered Hilliwrds TD record in high school by 21 and was a very productive RB who would be getting immediate PT at most school. And it's not like we need a dynamic passing attack or even be a 50/50 run/pass offense. We can still run it 60% of the time. We just need a QB that can take pressure off our running game and be efficient. If we have an efficient passing attack that teams have to respect, LF, DWill, and Guice will for sure put up big #s, but the entire RB group could be in for a monster year.

We have a great pass catching group as well. Dural and Chark are the burners that can score from anywhere on the field. Dupre is the freak talent that can go up and get the ball over any DB in the nation. Diarse is a tough player that can go over the middle and beat DBs with his physical play. Quinn is a great route runner that can do damage in the slot and going across the middle as well. DeSean Smith is a mismatch nightmare that has the speed that gives LBers problems and the size and athleticism that gives DB problems. And LF is solid out the backfield as well. This doesn't even include the incoming freshman we have like Tyrin Johnson, Guice, Dillon, etc.

We don't need a QB to carry us on offense. We just need a guy that can give our outstanding skill players the best opportunity to make plays. And Harris does that better than Jennings.

And Golson would do better than both. Brandon is still raw but shows flashes of brilliance. His throw to Chark and his interception in the spring game really brought it all back down from what was a pretty good performance. I still think that Jennings has a better grasp for the game but just doesn't have the physical ability or consistency to be great. Golson coming in gives us an experienced guy who has wheels and has a cannon on his shoulder.

ND went 1-5 their last 6 games with Golson as the starting QB. And he had 14 INTs, 8 lost fumbles (12 fumbles total) for a total of 22 turnovers... in 9 games this year. 9. And he also took 27 sacks this year.In 4 games vs top 25 opponents, Golson was 56% completion passer with 7 TDs and 8INTs. Rushing wise, he had 36 attempts for -40yards.

And you say Golson had a lot of turnovers and struggled because he was in a wide open, pass first offense with no rushing attack or D... ND averaged 152ypg on the ground and Golson only ran for like 20yards a game and averaged 2.5yards per carry. And wouldn't being in a good offensive system help your #s? Especially considering ND plays teams like Rice, Purdue, Navy, Syracuse, and Northwestern. Can't really say that he struggled because he plays in a QB friendly offense...

And Golson is going to be a senior... Only has a few months to come in and learn a new offense, learn to play with new players, at a new school, etc. And at the same time you could possibly damage the relationship with Brandon Harris and you would just set his growth back another year. For just 1 year of Golson, who could very easily struggle for us going against SEC teams week in and week out and we could be just as good or better with Harris as the helm.

I'm not going to address the first two paragraphs because stats don't tell the whole story.

Freshmen come in every year in the fall and are tremendous players, and a lot of them do not need an adjustment period at all. Being that Golson is a very experienced 5th year senior he is acclimated to all of the nuances of being a student-athlete. He'll be fine.

Adding another QB to the roster only helps the development of BH and AJ. If Golson were to beat out both, we get to play him in 2015 and have another QB battle in 2016 with Franks in the mix as well. LSU is bigger than Brandon Harris and if it means taking in another QB to go 10-2 over 8-5 you better believe that the coaches will take that. If Brandon Harris or Anthony Jennings were to get upset about Golson coming in, we don't need them anyway.

Harris still hasn't beaten out Jennings yet and he isn't as good as you think. Golson has the better combination of talent and technique than both of our QBs right now.

Bringing in Golson has no downsides for LSU football. That being said, he needs to make the decision based on his education and well-being before football.

Agree with most of what KG5989 said. Is Golson even visiting LSU? Hell I saw where he is visiting 10 schools.

Me too just gets old. Jennings will start the season yet I think Harris overcomes him before the meat of the schedule hits.......or let us both silently pray together lol

Hmm..
Don't be that guy. Jennings isn't as talented as Harris, but everything I've heard coming out about him indicates he's a leader.
