It's an indictment on the development of players that Hilliard hasn't developed a third pitch in four years. You can't pitch big time baseball with a 88 mph fast ball and a 72 big hook everyone sees coming.

He waste too many pitches. Don’t throw meatballs on 0-2 or 1-2, but hanging curves that aren’t even close to the strike zone is wasting pitches and gets the pitch count up.
