Shores also has more potential than Cowan. Nothing against Cowan he has some great innings for LSU this year, but when Shores is on he overwhelms. Also, it's probably Jay's thinking coming in behind a leftie throwing with far less velocity it throws hitters off more when they're seeing 100 mph heaters.
