Score Prediction:
I think the score will be tied going into the top of the 1st inning, causing the usual Rant suspects to declare "I'm done with this team," but LSU will take the lead later in the game...

As long as Bianco isn't in the lineup I'm good.

I think if it was on SEC+ and on CST, it would be blacked out in the region. But since it's ESPN+ (paid subscription), it will be available for us in BR.

Correct me if I'm wrong, that's just my take.

Since the mad scientist, Manieri is experimenting with the lineup play Hampton in CF and put Drost at DH and sit Beloso for a game or two.

Anyone know what the ticket situation is? There have been several posts on the ticket exchange. I’m just looking for a solo ticket for myself.

If it’s on SECN or SEC+ that should mean it’s a conference game or a home game for the SEC team, which means CST doesn’t have rights and wouldn’t be involved.

Could it be that Hampton will be leaving for spring practice soon and Mainieri doesn't wanna get him in there then have to replace him in a week or whenever it is? I forgot how that's worked with Mo the previous 2 years.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in CF. I like Drost at the plate, but his speed in center leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, if we were going to see Dugas move back to the infield, we would have seen it already.

Absolutely not going to happen:
Until Gio gets back I would like to see Drost to LF, Hampton to CF, Dugas to 2B. Arnold/Thompson fighting it out for the SS position. I can't see benching Beloso yet, but he really needs to start hitting.

An article in the Advocate last week said Hampton is not going to participate in Spring practice this year but will remain with the baseball team.

But I can't find that article now so maybe the Advocate has withdrawn the statement.

Thanks. I wonder how I missed that. I still get the paper delivered and read it every morning.

Like I said, I can't find that article now but I know I didn't dream it up because when I read it I was shocked that the media has not made much of a big deal about it.

It was just one line in a long article about outfield options until Gio can return.

I found this in the revellie....
quote:

Coming into college, Hampton and his coaches and trainers mapped out a plan for how he would go about the football and baseball seasons. He doesn’t participate in baseball’s fall practices or football’s spring activities and tries to keep his focus between the two sports equal throughout the year.

“I stick to 50/50,” he said of his focus.”That was the plan coming in and that’s what I stuck with.”

quote:

So, where does Hampton fit in with the rest of the outfield? Head coach Paul Mainieri called his sophomore, “a wild card.”

“He looks good, he just hasn’t had the reps out there,” Mainieri said, noting the outfielder had occasionally lost fly balls in the sun in the early weeks of spring practice.

That's interesting. Thanks. Maybe the Advocate's story was true.

Nice to see young arms throw strikes. Got out with a shutout win and no one got hurt.
