I haven't read any of this thread, but I have a strong feeling some negatigers are fapping to this statement while crying.

Truth hurts and believe me, it hurts me to even admit that this guy's quote was truthful.

Watching that game, I don't think there's any other explanation for most of the first 3 quarters, Mett or no Mett.

There's always next week.

You shouldn't be so concerned about those who disagree with you. It seems even realistic posters are labeled "negatiger" by the superfans.

The team has issues, even an FCS team could see it. It will either get corrected or it will not, and the team has about a week to right the ship. Will see how it plays out.

You're right. I forget how tolerant the other side is of those who disagree with them. It comes in swarms to the point where interaction is unavoidable. I enjoy making them even more upset.

No kidding.

There aren't two sides and this is the problem. Superfans don't seem to get this.

I'm not a "superfan". I'm highly unimpressed with the past two games. I also know that different teams show up in different weeks the past few years and that there's no point in panicking, writing off future games, insulting players/coaches, etc. Some don't do all 3 of these, but doing even one of them to me is foolish.

I am curious to know how they found out we showed no respect besides the local paper? I didn't see in the paper where they were thought of as a "high school" team.

Haha. Just because he said it don't make it true. Some of you are incredible. We played totally emotionless because we were looking ahead to Fla ( as we should be with a team like Townson) and we still passed for 238 yards and had 400 yards of offense. Without much effort. The young man was wrong but by all means continue passing on the lie.

but it wasn't. they forced turnovers, they played fearless. ball in front of an overwhelming crowd. maybe if the stands were full of people an energy maybe it would have been a different game.

yeah - the key three words in Beltre quote "we should have" - I should have invested the 8,600 dollars I spent on a 911 Porsche in 1978 on dirt cheap Mircosoft shares - but I didn't. Jim Mora said it best - shuda, wuda, cuda - look at the fricking scoreboard when walking off the field Frank.

There aren't two sides? LSU outscored opponents 145 to 31 in the first three games. LSU is also 5-0. Mettenberger's averaging 203 yards passing a game, and the team itself is ranked 18th in rushing yards per game, 24th in points scored per game, and 9th in points against. The problem is that there ARE two sides, and anyone who uses hard facts to argue that is called a "superfan". The fact is that we played bad offensively last week, which overshadows how good our defense played, and this week we played incredibly sloppy and lacked motivation. Are there issues? Yeah. Absolutely. No one's saying there's not. It's also not considered "realism" because you're being negative.

I'm not a Superfan at all. I don't even come to the Rant because I hate the fans because there's no grey. You either think the team is amazing or you think it's terrible. No one can see in between those lines, and as a website full of adults who are making grown up decisions with careers and other actual important things in life, it's absolutely pathetic that so few people can act with any maturity on the subject. When I posted the stats earlier, it was simply to see how ignorant people could be. I showed that Alabama has faced statistically worse ranked defenses and similar quality opponents, and they've performed at a similar level to LSU outside of the discipline aspect of the game in turnovers and penalties. Every single other category is no heavily biased towards either side. They both have positivies and negative. Yet, I was called stupid, ridiculed, called an idiot, and whatever else. This brings up a question. Is someone an idiot for looking at statistics and forming an opinion or are they an idiot for choosing to completely ignore it with no basis just on emotion and opinion? I think that the second option is a major source of a lot of stupid, awful shite that goes on in every aspect of life. It's not wrong for someone to disagree with you. Just because you watched a football game doesn't mean you have any more insight than someone else, and it's very possible that you can and will be wrong on a lot of things.

That said, there are really three sides here. A vocal negative side, a vocal overly positive side, and then a middle side that both other sides hate which takes all things into account. It's okay to go on your emotions but raw numbers are an incredibly valuable tool in becoming well-educated and rounded.

They are cocky- and they earned the right. They played well enough to win. LSU should be embarrassed of allowing them to be closer than 45 points.
