Until we see this team with new coordinators on the field in a live-game situation, I wouldn't put anything down just yet. Do I think we win? Yes; however, too much uncertainty to spend hard earned money on it.

Top Week 1 college football predictions
One of the top college football picks the model is recommending for Week 1: LSU (-3.5) goes to Pasadena and easily covers against UCLA at 8:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The Tigers are coming off a disappointing 5-5 campaign in 2020, but they have a lot of experience returning on the offensive line and at running back. They're also hoping Max Johnson is the answer at quarterback, while receiver Kayshon Boutte has a lot of upside
UCLA raced past Hawaii in Week 0, but this is a huge step up in competition for the Bruins. Johnson throws for almost 400 yards in the simulations as the Tigers cover more than 60 percent of the time.

Well there is def no such thing as free beer money when betting sports ... Money lately has been on UCLA but I think that's because people watch them play Hawaii
The over under is 66 so the odds makers are roughly thinking a 34 to 31 win by LSU ... it's not giving our defense much respect which is understandable ... If our defense is legit this year And is like that from game 1 than you will probably feel good with your bet real early in the game ... if not than Vegas score predictions will be close
Having said that it's free beer money lol 34 17 tigers baby

2019 LSU would like a word…
Especially the SECCC and playoffs. I was taking LSU and the alternate lines (the LSU line minus another 7) and raking in the cash. Literally made over 5K just in those last few games.

If Johnson throws for 400 I’ll eat my fricking hat. But I still think LSU wins big. And definitely covers the spread.

Preface-
I Hope LSU pushes the Bruins’ stool in for them.
But last year’s Moo State game lingers in my memory.
Let’s hope that 2021 is more like 2019 and less like 2020.

That was a good year and I'm happy for your winnings .... But pointing to the times one wins as an example of free beer money is incorrect .. It's fun and one can have thier good streaks but just be prudent ... Regardless I'm not the one who should be talking about this since I have a sizable bet on lsu

I don't see Vegas crossing a key # like 3... unless some serious cash comes in on UCLA or we get really bad injury news. If anything sharps hammer LSU now and we see if go back to 3.5 or 4

found on UCLA board:
Login to RespondDespite having arguably the best CB tandem in CFB, LSU was *horrific* in pass defense. 124th in the nation in yards per pass attempt allowed (out of 130, mind), 127th in passing yards allowed, 108th in passing first downs allowed.
They were also one of the worst run defenses in the country. 94th in the country in yards per rush attempt allowed.
They were terrible at allowing explosive plays, 107th in the country in points per play allowed. And in keeping opponents out of the endzone (95th in touchdowns allowed).
They, surprisingly, were good at stopping teams on 3rd down, 37th in the nation, but that's largely because they allowed teams so many yards on 1st and 2nd downs. They were 76th in the country in 1st downs allowed.
They were 13th in the country in turnover margin. We will need to hang onto the ball to win.
Max Johnson has some decent stats, but a significant chunk came against Auburn and Alabama in garbage time, and against an Ole Miss pass defense that was one of the worst in the country. He played a very nice game against a good-ish Florida team who was also a very poor passing defense. He doesn't have a lot of starting experience, only three games, so if we can get in his head it will go a long way.
LSU had a shockingly bad run game last year, 108th in the country in yards per rush attempt.
Despite everyone touting their receivers, they were just ok in passing offense last year, 62nd in yards per pass attempt, and 55th in average passer rating.
They weren't very explosive, 75th in the country in yards per play, and 61st in points per play.
Their line had a decent sack allowed percentage, 46th in the country

As I have said, if LSU does not pummel UCLA, it will be a long and disappointing season.

All valid points but the changes made on defense, I feel, will basically flip the script. With last year, our Defense was historically bad, I feel this year with our new coaching staff, could be historically great! Just my 2 cents.

Finally found it again online and hopped all on this. I honestly don't see a way we don't cover after watching UCLA last weekend
