Cool. I'm thinking about taking my sticks and going down to Bandon either before or after.

If you have time to go into CAN Vancouver is a beautiful city. And if I remember correctly the drive is less than 3 hours from Seattle. Multiple ferries from Vancouver area out to various points on the island, it's a great ride. If you really have time the dirve up to Whistler is another couple of hours and very scenic.

A couple of years back went in to Seattle, spent a few days in the city, caught a ball game, drove up to Whistler for sking for the week. Great place summer or winter.

just be aware that getting to Bandon from Seattle is about a 9 or 10 hour drive. Chambers Bay, where the US open is going to be in a few years, is right next to Seattle though

Yeah. If I go down to Bandon it will be on an airplane. Was there last year and loved it--especially Pacific Dunes, and had not planned to go back until the new course is opened next year, but then this trip came up and so I'm rethinking. Thanks for the suggestion on Chambers Bay, though.

I'll be in Seattle for the game, and I played Bandon last year. nycajun, in case you haven't checked into this, Bandon is REALLY hard to get to. Last year I went from Atlanta to Portland, then from Portland to North Bend on a puddle jumper, then took a one hour bus/shuttle ride to the resort. Absolutely well worth it -- it is unlike any golf resort, at least in the US. But, it is very remote.

Tell me about it! I went last summer with a group from my golf club in South Carolina. Flew NY-Portland-Coos Bay, and then the same shuttle bus ride. Spent 4 nights, played all 3 courses, and Pacific a second time. Pacific and Bandon Dunes are fabulous. I was less than thrilled with Bandon Trails, but in fairness, it was blowing a steady 25 MPH with gusts up to 50 that day. The new course that's supposed to open next year, out near Pacific Dunes, looks like it's going to be great, too.

Agreed, and I'd like to eventually go back to play Old MacDonald. I'm a big fan of Doak's, and I think PacDunes was outstanding. I liked Trails more than you, maybe because we had a very mild day. I think Coore & Crenshaw did a lot with a much less desirable piece of dirt than the other two.

With all of these people saying they are going to the game no one seems concerned about tickets. I know Washington sucked last year but with the quarterback healthy and playing LSU tickets are going to be hard to get.

I'm all set. But based on what I hear from folks in Seattle, it's not likely to be a problem.

We are going up Wednesday. Sunday morning we are taking a Victoria Clipper on a three day Pueget Sound cruise. Sunday to Victoria, Monday to Friday Harbor and Tuesday seaplane back to Seattle. I don't think that Seattle realizes what is coming.

Dad-our gang is going over to Victoria Sunday and Monday after the game. For a couple bucks more, we are taking a seaplane-picks us up at the dock in Seattle and lands in the harbor in Victoria. Give us a shout if you want-we have done a buttload of research on hotels.

While in Mexico this past Jan. I met a girl that runs a travel agency in Seattle. She gave me her phone #, talked with her last night. But this does sound good, can you give me a call?

Ok folks,I will be in from Thursday till the flight out Tuesday. Along the lines of tickets up there. Husky Stadium hold 72,500. Only one time last year did they have over 70K in the stadium (That was against Notre Dame, you'll remember last years coach Ty Willingham coached at ND from 2003-05).The rest of the games the av. was around the mid 60's. Two games (Zona St. and UCLA) the attendance was less than 60K. Hope this helps...

JCT says: "I don't think that Seattle realizes what is coming."

I'm sure you will travel and bring a ton of excited fans. Probably more than most...

However, we are used to getting a ton of traveling fans including Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Miami, etc. (even from the likes of Boise State). Many opposing fans, especially out of conference fans, mark the calendars for the trip to UW.

Husky Stadium, the views and waterfront access,(traditionally, but not as of late) a good football game/matchup, late summer/early fall weather (is great), Seattle, San Juans Islands, Mt. Rainier, Victoria, Olympica Penninsula, the wineries, the breweries, etc. are ALL huge reasons UW is circled on opposing teams' calendars...

In other words, LSU is not alone in earmarking the UW game as the game that many will travel for their "away" game.

I'm glad to see it. I think it will be awesome to see a bunch of cajuns running around town. I hope you all have a great time and are treated well. I hope our return trip will be met the same as I am 100% committed to the trip.
