Thanks for the correction. A loose ball that touches anything out of bounds is dead. If a player with the ball touches anything out of bounds, other than another player or an official, the ball is dead....

By definition, a one point try is a field goal, but only counts one point. A "two point conversion" is, by definition, a touchdown. But it only counts two points. The terms "extra point", "two point conversion", "forward lateral", "lateral", and many other commonly used terms do not appear in the ru...

A loose ball that touches anything out of bounds is dead. The goal post is out of bounds. An exception to this rule states that a try or field goal that hits the goal post and still goes through is successful. FYI - I officiated football for 25 years. ...

re: Best story about taking your kid to a game

When a new child comes into the world, earlier generations are given the task of passing on important values that define the past and project the future. On the Saturday of the WKU game, as my grandaughter and I were riding to the game, she asked if I had my LSU CD in the truck. She told me, "We nee...

re: When you go to a football game where LSU is not involved, do you wear LSU colors
Posted by JCT on 9/15/11 at 10:37 am
I went to the 1997 Sugar Bowl (Florida vs. Florida State) in purple and gold. I had a Florida fan stop me to tell me what a great baseball team we had. And, yes, I pulled for the Gators!...
re: nice job with post game traffic

I have found that the traffic is worse when people leave early. When everyone stays until the end, traffic seems to flow better. Don't ask me why?...

re: Midfield at Tiger Stadium 1987 season

If I remember correctly, it went like this:
They were filming "Everybody's All-American" during the season. Several times during actual season, scenes for the movie were filmed before the real games and during halftime. The fictitious school in the film was the University of Louisiana. The state ou...

Would we be that way?

I've been to Omaha (2000) and saw out Tigers win it. I met many Nebraskans that were pulling for the Tigers. It's become common knowledge that the people up there love to see the Tigers come to town. I am wondering if Tiger fans would "adopt" a team from another part of the country to support in an ...

We went to Omaha in 2000. I know that was awhile ago, but we were there ten days and found NO good food. The best we had was at a Chili's one night. They have no clue! Great people, though. And what an event! Just bring your coffee and your Tony's....
