Keep up the bitching. Seriously. Keep creating as much animosity as possible. This is one if the few "rivalry" games left for LSU sports. The price gouging is just economics.
What we really need is for Tulane to stop sucking so bad. How much longer before they start fresh with a new coach. Let's face it, Jones has done a piss poor job with the talent that he gets.

It's called supply and demand. LSU does the same shite grouping football games together.

There have been several posts here by Tiger fans that LSU has a different ticket price for select games. Other than the TAF fees that relate to specific parts of the stadium and/or tickets bought thru TAF, what games have had different ticket prices? As far as I am aware, the base price for any ticket in TS is the same. As far as calling any weenies' game a rivalry, that is a joke. That is ancient history. The "atmosphere" at a greenie game is the same as it is for a ULLLL game, and they are no rival in any sense.

I say play them only once in the season at Zephyr and we get half the gate and concessions

Tulane will not do that ... They will never play a game in zephyr again ..

Are the tickets going to sell out? I'd like to get about 10 tickets together. Would I have to go to the box office early?

Yep. Variable pricing. They're not doing it to gouge LSU fans because they're LSU fans. They're using the volume to their advantage. Just like anybody else does.
If UCF brought as many people to the park as LSU does, they'd get the same prices.

These threads are always funny. "How DARE a school try to maximize its profits by charging higher ticket prices for an in-demand game!!!"
The market will set the price. If Tulane couldn't sell all the tickets they wanted at $37, then they'd lower the price
The price for the individual football tickets are not the same for each game. Look at next years home schedule. The non-conf games (which are terrible btw) are $40, while the SEC games are $70

Why? We should do like we already do and play them in a home and home every year.
I would also like to see us do home and homes with ULL and Southeastern alternating every year. One year we go to Lafayette, one year we go to Hammond. But also play them at home in the years we don't go there, so we basically get 2 for 1s.
A neutral site game in Shreveport would be nice too. Dallas Baptist, TCU, Oral Roberts or some such team that wouldn't have to go too far, but give the LSU fans up there a game to go to without having to make the trip to BR.

If it were 25-50% higher than a regular LSU or Tulane ticket, I would agree. Over 300% is price gouging.

Im going to the game...wearing my purple and got the ticket from a TULANE alum...they paid $30 a piece...was either that or buy a 5 game pack...some friends of mine on 990 talked about this the other night....how crazy the prices are just 20 bucks less than a LSU football ticket!

So you are forced to buy the ticket? I didn't know it was compulsory.

Well...it is kinda silly, but if a stadium full of people are going to be stupid enough to pay that much to see a midweek college baseball game, then God bless em.

Home and home is just fine.
We already play a game at Zephyr field anyway.
Half of the people complaining probably aren't in NOLA anyway, the other half are still going to buy a ticket. And Tulane isn't the problem here, the problem is that LSU is so good that so many people want to go see them. I'm sure if we played a game at Nichols the same problem would arise.
And that is a damn good problem to have, the demand for your teams tickets at away stadiums is so high that they jack the prices up.

If you think that it's just a 'mid week' game, then so be it. But it's more than that. And it's pretty lame to call people 'stupid' who care about their program enough to fork over an additional $20 to see their team play in person; regardless if that's LSU or Tulane.
Posted on 3/26/13 at 10:39 am to TulaneUVA
It used to be more than just a midweek game. Not so much now since Tulane has been largely irrelevant in baseball (and thus, athletics in general) over the last 4-5 years

When you take into account driving from Nola to BR and back you could easily spend $20 in gas just to get to/from the game. So the pricing is actually similar to what it would cost for me to go up t Baton Rouge for a game.
