Ever heard of "coach speak"? And, when is the last time you heard a coach mention his agent?

He also stammered at the end of his rebuttal and said "well, maybe something happened behind the scenes, but this wasn't my search".

Agents are behind the scenes for a reason: to handle all of this shite. This didn't happen in 24 hours.

But Coach Kelly made you believe that because that's what he's supposed to do.

He was out recruiting a player for Notre Dame in California…. Lol

That’s BS. He said he can’t speak on what was happening because he didn’t know. If you have a recruiter or an agent working to find future employers why would you do all the work without consulting and discussing it first with your client/hires?

It is 100% plausible and the most likely based off actual spoken fact that LR was the primary target and BK was a fall back plan within some capacity. If you’re an AD how could you possible have not reached out to and have multiple discussions or interviews with the prospective coach within the time frame LSU had. Quick easy answer is it was a fallback. Anything else is pure speculation.

Because he was still employed as the Head Coach of...wait for it...Notre Dame.

Sigh. And, see below:

We'll agree to disagree on this matter.

I'm just saying, Kelly may not have been LSU's original target because he wasn't on anyone's radar. I agree that it goes the way you are saying. But, just from hearing speculation, it sounds like we went after Riley and then landed on kelly.

He literally just said this happened fast and a decision was made over a series of conversations. Said it wasn’t his search and he doesn’t know what happened prior to his one and only talk with Scott. Lol, he wasn’t our first choice boys.
Once again, Agents do the leg work and don't bring the client in until deep into the conversation.

what's he going to say..." Me and Scott have had this lined up for weeks all while I've been trying to coach my team to the CFP"

He ain't putting that out, especially since there is a degree of backlash from people over him leaving before he knows if they made the playoffs.

I would argue that we need to change some of the Louisiana culture in our players. I am tired of having emotional teams that need to be "up" in order to win the important games. Less heart-on-sleeve Louisiana joi de vivre and more workman-like grit and consistency.

It’s a fine line…part of what made 2019 so special was the heart on the sleeves of the team. Lacking emotion isn’t always a good thing.

If you really believe an accomplished Coach like him coaching at Notre Dame will take a job because the school struck out on younger less accomplished coach , And it was a last ditch effort I got ocean front property in Arizona for sale at a steal $100 a lot

Who really gives a F if he was our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th choice. He's ours now! And....... guess what? He's the most accomplished and most successful coach that LSU has ever hired as it's Football coach. Name me one other coach that comes close to the accomplishments that BK has acheived that was available to be hired?? Saban and Dabo? You think they were available??

We just pulled away the winningest football coach in the history of one of the most decorated football programs in America. We pulled away a highly successful coach from the media's most precious program and you want to make a point that he wasn't our first choice?!?! GFY!!!

I'm damned excited that we have a coach in place that is going to bring much needed discipline and order to this program. Get behind this program and coach or go find another to support.

Neither was Saban Mark Emmert’s first choice. Butch Davis was.

Just like this defensive back Stingley. What a loser. Played basically one season. I would not draft him

Woody, Kelly, and Riley all have the same agent so I’m sure he never had to talk to coaches until it was serious

You probably believe your wife has to work late three times a week.

No coach will ever admit he was talking to another team during the season.

We must not forget the LSU plane was in South Bend on Sunday, October 24th 2021. That says a lot in my mind.
