Love the two big tourney wins but still have the same problems

We beat Auburn (not a good team) because of their incredible screw up. Eight hits aren't bad but should have more against very average pitching. Still lots of bad ABs. I believe we were going to tie it without the circus act walk-off but not sure we would have won it in B9.

Miss State was a total abberation. The fact that they only got 6 hits speaks to their lack of focus and/or the baseball gods. Our staff did a good job but don't be fooled. Moo St had an off night. They swung at some pitches that typically they are more disciplined and take.
Plus mangum goes 0-3.

On the other side we had several 5-6 bouncers get through the infield for hits that have normally been outs or even DPs. And a couple lazy fly balls found grass instead of being caught. We did have some timely hits that have not always been happening. Plus State misplayed several balls, including a possible 5-4-3 double play that extended the inning and got us 3 more runs in the 3rd. Plus they pulled Ginn after this happened so he might have regained his form and gone much deeper than 2.1 and we wouldn't have seen the lesser parts of the bullpen so early.

NOT UNHAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME. Tigers did what they needed to do to secure a regional and that's where we always need to be. May tourney baseball at The Box! But if I had to bet today is going to be ugly. Obviously our pitching staff is depleted. But I still am not sold that we can hit really good pitching. Hope I am wrong. Wouldn't be suprised if we get blown out.

Anyway, Hoover is always a blast. If you have never been, schedule some time to go next year. Fun environment. Lots of good folks. Killed me to see Moo St folks walk out with a W at 3:30 am but loved seeing them with tucked tails last night. Geaux Tigers.
