These kids would rather sit out now-a-days then play with their teammates and school one last ride. Makes me sick. Bowl games should be an all out blood bath, and instead the new standard is you play with the “B” team…fa la la la la la lame. Merry Christmas

Sooo you want kids who are risking millions to play in a meaningless game?

It’s part of their season. LSU wasn’t making the playoffs from game 5 in the season and they finished out playing. “Risking millions”. The bowl game isn’t even worth going to anymore for schools if everyone just sits out.

Yes. No game is meaningless, however.

I remember racing home from work to see the ‘95 Independence Bowl. Everyone was jacked to see LSU back in a bowl game. Times have sadly changed.

Are bowl games new?? Nope. Been around forever. Define "meaningless". Is playing for a national championship worth risking millions? Bottom line is this whole "risking injury" bullshite is exactly that. Bullshite. Play the damn game and stop being a pussy.

Honestly, if it’s a meaningless bowl then Who cares if we win or lose. Let the top players sit out and give the young guys some experience

Getting rid of the meaningless games would be a great start. The only reason I ever even slightly cared about bowl games was the prestige and the chance to play different teams. 84 teams making bowls took the prestige away, making bowls every year and super conferences takes away playing different teams.

I grew up in a 1AA town and lived through 1AA playoffs, I could give a shite about a bowl game, I'd take an expanded playoff where shite matters. And when they sit that out as well, I will quit watching like I have done 90% of the rest of sports.

Almost all games are meaningless.

You want kids to only play if the game could Contribute to a National championship?

Saying only championship games mean anything is just cutting the legs out from the entire sport.

There’s not one player that regrets playing in their last bowl game or coming back for their senior year. Not one. Jake Butt and Jaylon Smith were both injured in their game and neither regretted playing. Too many agents and handlers in these kids ears. Ask any former pro player their favorite football memory and just about all will tell you high school or college.

Create lots of meaningless bowls to reward mediocrity and this is to be expected. Not sure why this is such a difficult concept for so many fans.
