and LSU's best player ever? ESPN college football show doing a 50 state special on each state. You're thoughts. Mine is Terry B for Louisiana, and YA Title for LSU.

Terry Bradshaw
Peyton Manning
Bert Jones
Marshall Faulk
Warrick Dunn
ETA: Steve Van Buren
Kevin Mawae (OL are never popular on these lists, but he is a future NFL HOFer)

can't think of many top defenders right now from La.

The best football player from the state of Louisiana is Peyton Manning, with Terry Bradshaw just barely below him at #2.

Bradshaw has more championships, but Manning is the gold standard of modern NFL quarterbacking.

Marshall Faulk also rates high.

Now that is a true player with a real passion for the game! GREAT motor that never quit running, the kid gave it his all. Real student of the game...a very cerebral running back.

Jerry Stovall was 2nd in the Heisman Voting and really should have been the 2nd Heisman Trophy Winner at LSU. Played in the NFL with the St. Louis Cardinals. He should get some consideration.

He was Tennessees, but yeah he would be up there along with Faulk.

Yeah, but you couldn't really say Leonard Marshall was/is int he same league as Manning, Bradshaw, or Faulk could you? Ed Reed will probably go down as the best defensive player from La.
