LSU vs USC - 1979 - the whole game - no contest,

I have a feeling most here aren't old enough to have experienced that one. But I think those who are would agree with you. I do.

+1 Loudest I've ever heard anything in my life. You could not hear yourself yell. That's how loud it was.

+2 My wife was making her first visit to Tiger Stadium that night. Before Hodson to Fuller she commented "I thought you said this place was loud". After Hodson to Fuller, I asked her if she could hear it now, and she said "Hear it heck, I can feel it."

the 2 loudest I've experienced in person were JaMarcus to Bowe on 4th and Goal as time expired to tie the ball game in 06 and the blocked fg against bama last year

2007 vs. Arkansas - right before the 4th down in OT that McCray blew coverage on...it may have been the 3rd OT, not sure. But right before that play, the stadium was rocking

This is easily top 3, if not number 1 for me. Everyone knew (at the time) that our National Championship hopes were on the line. It was unreal. I'd probably put the Bama blocked FG over it.

He didn't mistime his jump, he got to the ball. He just tipped it up instead of batting it down, and Florida got the lucky arse bounce and the tip went right into Harvin's hands. Probabaly the best defensive play McCray made all season, right up until the last millisecond.

Don't waste your time trying to convince the congenitally stupid on this board. Anything that happened last year was completely LSU either "lousy McCray/Sheppard/Coleman/take your pick defensive player" or it was "maleveto" or mostly it was Coach Miles.
Forget these idiots. They are complete bags of dog crap. These are the sewer roaches who still think little nicky is the greatest coach to ever walk a sideline. They long to have him back and would line up 3 deep along I59 and I12 to give him smokers all the way back to BR. They are zeros posing as Tiger fans. They, like little nicky are Les Miles bitches and will be for many years to come.

Hey CAT,actually based on the 5-6 head to head series record between the two schools since '98, (LSU one game over .500) Hog Fans are pretty accustomed to winning this game. As far as success on the football field goes, any program that's been in 23 New Years Day Bowl games, and has played for their conference's title 3 times in 17 tries, has had some success.

You mention how "elite" LSU is; lets' discuss how "elite" they were between '89 and '01 shall we?

I find it kind of funny that during the MOST SUCCESSFUL DECADE IN THE HISTORY of LSU's football program, they can only manage to be one game over .500 vs. AR ( Saban/Miles combined record vs. AR 5-4)

Based on the records above, Hog fans don't really place LSU in that high of company, given the success in that past 11 meetings, we actually seee this game as "winnable" year in and year out..

This one is easy.

This decade: LSU vs UGA in 2003. Tiger Stadium was that enthusiastic only once since then, which was UF 2007 when it was announced that USC lost to Stanford. Other than that, the good ole days of loud Tiger Fans is pretty nonexistent.

1990's - The night #1 went down.

1980's - At the "earthquake game". Was a youngster, but still remember it well.

1970's - born in 76, so I didn't attend the USC game....lol....

Tie

1.) "Bring Back the Magic" game Aubbie @ LSU in 95. Troy Twillie intercepting the last play, crowd erupted.
1a.) Duke @ LSU Basketball in 91(?) Laettner pwned Shaq, but the Deaf Dome was in RARE form. So loud I thought my ears would bleed.

Least loud major game?

Been to two UT/UF games at Neyland. UT crowd about the equivalent of the LSU crowd during the MTSU game. Florida fans were making about as much noise in their little section. Neyland is a nice stadium, and UT is a beautiful campus. . .but the fans are just boring.

i was listening to usc/ lsu on my transistor radio, and i couldn't
hear the announcers over the crowd noise. nowdays, they have
ways to block it out, back then they didn't think about it.

(1)
Hog fans are """pretty accustomed""" to winning this game? WTF?????? LSU won 4 STRAIGHT from '03 to '06, and we lost in '07 in TRIPLE OT and in '08 on some EVERLOVING GIFT LSU penalties after leading 30-14 in the 4th quarter! - and you are """pretty accustomed""" to winning this game ?????? That's "pretty" comical dude.

(2)
Know what else is comical? In the 1990's LSU was not "elite." In fact it was LSU's worst decade ever, but - we beat your asses head-to-head 5-3. :0

(3)
True, LSU in the 1990's was not "elite." Actually, for being the only non-winning and worst decade in LSU football history, we only finished 4 games below .500 at 54-58, the only such decade in our history. I'd be willing to bet Arkansas has had more non-winning decades than LSU. We've only had """""""ONE."""""""""
However, no one seems to remember that LSU - "IN THE '90's" - won 27 games in 1995,1996, and 1997 and went to and won three straight bowl games!! Oh, and we managed to sqeak by the 1995 SEC West Champion Arkansas Razorbacks 28 to nothing....

LSU vs. FLorida 2007

Stepping onto the field for pre-game, couldn't hear the drum cadence because the crowd was so loud....

that was loud, but nothing compared to when they announced that USC had lost later on in the game, then we played pre-game again....making that stadium rock is what the golden band from tiger land is all about

The roar when Hester scored the game winning TD in that game was LOUD! That game had everything. I said on here before that it was the most intense LSU game I had ever watched. Jake

MetryTyger,

Again, when the series record reads: 6 to 5 in past 11 meetings, it's hard to refute that AR can't feel pretty confident they have a shot at winning each time the two schools play..

Bottom line, on Miles "watch" the series is "knotted" @ 2 wins a piece. Further more since '05(Miles) this game has been decided by a TOTAL of 10 POINTS in 4 meetings.
You talk about "everloving gifts"...in the '05 game in BR the AR kicker missed TWO CHIP SHOT FIELD GOALS; he only needed one in a 19-17 loss, so Hog fans know all about missed opportunities and "gifts" in this series...
