If McMahon makes the tourney at all this year he deserves a contract extension

Is this supposed to be a trick or treat?

Short of winning the National Championship, there should be ZERO reason to give MM an extension. Just look at the only team picked to finish lower than LSU this year. They lost their mind and gave their HC an extension after one good season.

If someone want to pay McMahon $3.5M per after this season he should run, not walk, to sign that contract

His fate is already sealed. Just a matter of if he makes the season or not. With Woodward out he's lost any armor that he had.

He had to make the tourney this year whether Scott is here or not IMHO. So he's coaching for his job this year whoever the AD is.

Matt gets this season. And he would've only gotten this season with Woodward too. If the team is good, he'll be fine. If the team is even .500 in the league, he is toast.

There are 2 reasons people hate Wade on this board, and quite a few can probably claim both reasons.

1) They are SCARED SHITLESS that if men's basketball ever gets rolling again, their precious college motherflucking baseball will be diminished. And they are one billion percent right about that.

These youngsters refuse to believe or can't comprehend this, but there was a solid DECADE where basketball was the #1 sport on campus, even ahead of football.

If we ever get the hire right, and SUPPORT his arse, it will easily climb to #2 in importance in BR.

2) They are racist and/or can't relate to the men's basketball players. But they sure see themselves in the Tommy Tanks of the world.

Adding a third possibility: they may be dumb enough to believe there was a real risk to the football program in regard to standing behind Wade. The NCAA has ZERO juice compared to a top brand like LSU if we had the balls to challenge them (See UNC). The TarHeels gave a master class on how to bring the NCAA idiots to heel.

Woodward was most l likely trying to make his ex husband Emmert look better on the way out the door for the shitty job he performed as NCAA chief.

far exceeded his actual coaching ability

He's a pretty darn good coach. Great job in his sadly and aggressively curtailed stay at LSU, and he's gone NCAA tourney 2 of 2 seasons at a SOUTHLAND conference school, including a 12 vs 5 upset. I wouldn't be shocked if he delivers NC State's first Title since 1983, in a couple of seasons. He's the GOAT.

Woodward royally screwed LSU hoops with his quixotic crusade on Wade

Sounds like typical idiotic LSU fans that scream and whine while hiding behind anonymous screen names.

You say that, but you know the melt here will be huge no matter who is hired, because they’re not Wade. Just more apocalyptic doom about the demise of our athletic program.

We’ve only hired 1 coach since Wade and he sucks. You don’t really know how people would react if we hire a competent coach.

I'm the biggest Wade guy there is and would LOVE to have him back.

But if LSU hired a coach who performed as well as Wade did or better, I'd forget about Wade IMMEDIATELY.

So would almost all LSU fans. A lot of our fans really have a childish mentality about having to be right.

I would love to be WRONG AND WIN!!!

This includes McMahon winning the national championship this year. I'd EAGERLY admit being wrong in that MIRACULOUS situation.
