Wow. I had no idea.

we still controlled our own destiny in the SEC

We were 0-1 in the SEC on September 16. That is not in control of anything. After the Troy bed shitting by O, we were out of any playoff consideration.

So, by the first of October the season was over for SEC and national acclaim for all practical purposes.

You can try as much as you want, but this season was just another ho-hum one not any different from the five or so before it accept for the Troy bed wetting.

I don’t have to try everything you said is completely false and this season wasn’t the same as the last 4 we won 6 SEC games for the first time since 2012.

That said...Troy is "30" in the final coaches poll and "36" in the final AP poll. The loss should be viewed as no worse than if we had lost to ole miss or Arkansas (which would have been equally awful loses)

So is it bad loss or not??

You try to justify it because Troy “received votes” , then say it would be just as bad if LSU lost to arky or ole miss, one team who fired its coach and another coached by an interim coach

Troy is only “good” because of a laughably weak schedule. Other than LSU , it’s next best win is Arkansas st.

Troy hasn’t had a recruiting class in the top 60 in 4 years. LSU hasn’t had a recruiting class lower than 10 in 5 years.

How are y’all still trying to explain away this loss??

Even if LSUs entire starting 22 were hurt , this game would still have been LSU -3 before kickoff.

Worse loss:

LSU to Troy or
Clemson to Syracuse?

Is this serious?

I’ll bite.

Losing a conference game on the road to another P5 school is not as bad of a loss as losing to a sun belt team at home when you have the 6th most talented roster in the country, no matter how many different ways you try to slice it or justify it.

6th most talented? Moral victory I guess.

And Troy is a much better team than Syracuse. Can't slice it any other way.

Which arbitrary numbers are you using to calculate this one?

LINK

These numbers you dolt.

FWIW to the poster above you, Syracuse is listed at 62.

Troy is listed at 116, with a mere 55 players on scholarship , 30 less than LSU.

Troy is not more talented than LSU , or Syracuse, or hardly anyone for that matter. they finished with a better record because Troy does not play in the ACC. If Troy played Syracuse’s schedule I’d be shocked if they went 4-8.

If anything, troys coach should be getting more credit, kind of a surprise that no one would take a chance on him after getting a team with such a shitty roster to back to back 10 win seasons.

The way Otards have been fawning over the fact that LSU *might* get 10 wins, it’s a surprise there haven’t been more “NEAL BROWN FOR HEAD COACH” threads.

Lmao. I guarantee you, you miserable for, that had Lsu beat Alabama and then Georgia, they would have been in the playoff. They would have beaten 3 top 10 teams to win the sec.

You'll argue, shite on O, blah blah, but you are a dumb frick if you think Lsu wouldn't have made it with 2 losses, but auburn would have.

Excellent rebuttal , would read again.

Name calling? Listen I'm glad you discovered the internet. I've been going to Lsu games since the late 70s, and season ticket holder for over 20 years. I've seen it all. As I said, bless your heart.

ITT: middle aged person types condescending response because watching LSU longer somehow equals being a bigger fan.

When LSU got bent over at Mississippi State they were 0-1 in the SEC and didn't control their own destiny. When O shite in his bed at homecoming to Troy, our chances for the playoffs were gone but for in the minds of a few delusional O enablers. The season was over but for seeing if we would make another meaningless bowl game.

Third in the west and 17 in the final playoff ranking, but some clowns want to play a if game that has LSU beating both Alabama and Georgia.

Offensive skill positions, yes.

At the time they played LSU, they also had much more collective experience.

Well, you have something to actually say? Or just downvote?
I do.

Troy will likely finish in the top 25.....

So, is a top 25 loss really "one of the worse losses in lsu history" "nevvvvvvvver should happen" "unforgivable" etc etc?

No, it isnt. Should we have won? Yes. Is it that horrific of a loss some made it out to be? No

WRONG... LSU still could have won the west and the SECCG... And yes the way everything played out they still could have made the playoffs........
