So what bowl do you want? I keep hearing no one wants to go to ATL anymore, which is funny considering it's the title game in 17.

TaxSlayer would count as a New Year's Day bowl I'm sure even though it's really not one of the traditional ones.

the gator bowl has traditionally been played on new years day along with all the other sec florida bowl games. Pretty simple back in the day new years day bowl was the goal. Cotton, Sugar and the 3 florida bowls for the sec. so 5 good spots and then the peach was right on the edge.

of course now the peach is big time

its not the cap1 or outback but its been a new years day bowl.

id prefer outback again or cap1 over another shitty mid december bowl. Id go to tampa again or orlando.

I would consider jacksonville.

I live 20 minutes away from NRG Stadium and I'll be there. I really wanted to go to Florida, but maybe another time.

so you would rather play in a shite game like the texas bowl vs a traditional florida bowl game?

at least the florida games have tradition. It would be better if they started them later but it is what it is.

Does it really matter? If the choice is tradition or being able to go, all else basically equal, sure some people would take the local option. We recruit more in Texas. Could be useful to play there.

Are we though? 2003, 2005-2007 and in 2011. Hardly a perennial top 10 team. I think some of you are fairly deluded on LSU.

Is there really that much glamour for any bowl game outside of the major 6? It's all about fun matchups now. Give me a bowl game at night over some Florida bowl at 11.

Citrus gets first choice. Then the Outback, Belk, Music City, Texas, TaxSlayer, and Liberty are grouped together.

SEC office picks which 6 teams go to these 6 bowls (working closely with the bowls), and the payouts are basically all the same between them.

So it's just not the exact same process, given the involvement of the SEC. LSU isn't going to get selected to the Outback Bowl, because they were there two years ago, so that already cuts our chances for a "New Year's Day" bowl already.

ETA: Basically, if you're not going to the Citrus, then the rest are all pretty even.

I prefer the further option when traveling. Id rather the flight to tampa than a short drive to houston.

We recruit florida very heavily. I don't think many recruits will be that impressed seeing all of our talent in a shitty bowl.

I do think this discussion could be a bit premature though considering the source of the reports.

yes, by every single measure LSU is a top 10 program. Its late so I'm not going to drag around looking for the site but from various sites LSU is always ranked from 9-12.

it would appear we aren't if you go by titles but we are very conservative on what we recognize as a legit national title vs other programs.

Citrus, Outback, gator bowl. the other ones are drags imo. I know they grouped them together but Belk, music city, texas and liberty aren't impressive for a big 6 program imo.

bama playoff, Ole miss possible sugar if you go by their sources , Then have to believe every program is pretty jumbled after that. Arky beat our arse but they have some ugly losses and they are arky. UGA typical florida bowl team but now they don't have richt. UF is basically us with a worse offense

they are close to citrus though so who knows. what will happen.

Not sure why anybody is upset on who we play? We are not that good. I'm not sure we can beat anybody at this point.

Without a QB who cannot complete a screen pass is a serious issue which doesn't bode well no matter who we play.

With talent on this team it's all pretty embarrasing.

You must be a glutton for punishment. Havent you seen enough of this shiteshow offense for one year? They'll be paint drying at my house that day...much more interesting.
