mean Yale is a private university, why would the government be concerned with who they let in?
Private schools accept federal money.

I would get admitting actual athletes who dont even come close to regular students as an issue, but regular students as "athletes"? Were their parents big money donors or something?
It would be similar to UNC having "no show" classes for athletes BUT they also included regular students into the classes, therefore the athletes were not the only ones receiving the "benefit", which would have been an NCAA violation.

Well I hope Nick Saban is also included. Yes this is about Basketball but he's a scum as well.

This is not about athletes.
Belongs on the OT.

The alleged scheme focused on getting students admitted to elite universities as recruited athletes, regardless of their athletic abilities,
True story... years ago I would peruse the LSUSPORTS.NET football roster and look for all the 5'8" 178lb "defensive backs" with last names like Chouest or Bairnsfather.

This isn't related to his situation

Yeah, they’re talking about Felicity Huffman and Lori Laughlin now. Still a big deal. Impacts the credibility of every university involved. Kind of dwarfs the issue of paying players.

Watch LSU will get the death penalty and these schools will get off scott free.
Not a chance in hades that happens. Ask yourself, who is in control of the federal gov? Who is in control of the NCAA? College Graduates. They are mostly academia's so cheating to get kids into universities hits them right in the mouth. They will go after these people with a vengeance. If anything they will almost forget about Wade. More serious infractions and infractions that affect them on a very personal level. Think about it. You're an athlete that worked your butt of on the practice field to get to college and play the sport you love. Suddenly in comes this kid who is the darling of the community and hasn't paid his dues and he gets the start ahead of you. How would that make you feel. That's how these academia's will feel regarding the academic side.

Investigator just said at the press conference that this scheme was tipped off to them by someone working on a separate unrelated investigation. I wonder what that investigation could be.

They can find out all this shite but can’t tell me who killed Biggie and Tupac.

6 Million? Holy shite. Who is the idiot who paid that to get their kid into a school?
Probably 10 percent of ivy league admissions are based on the amount of money the family donates to the school rather than merit, individual donations in the millions are not unusual. This is why a school like Harvard has billions of dollars in endowment and allows about 20% of the students to attend for free, and offer generous financial aid for another 60%.
