Looking for a Jackson Harris breakout game

With Green out Sam needs another big target. Mothershed will be a big target as the fill in TE, but it will likely take time for him to be a reliable option. I would think Lane is going to try to get Sam to hit some quick slants or crosses and get the ball out quickly so he doesn't overthink too much. Harris' size should make him a good option to get the ball out quickly and get the offense going tempo.

Eugene Wilson and Harris should both see more balls thrown their way.

Hopefully so... he's looking like the 2026 version of Nic Anderson at the moment.
A lot of preseason hype and has been a non factor under the lights.

It is hard to say which is the problem here for Harris. I dont see him catching contested balls but Sam is not throwing well or on target either. It would take a film guy to compile the targets to really see which is the problem.
I take for granted that our coaching staff has that info and that is why they are sticking with him.

Harris has been open on several routes, and just isn't getting the ball thrown to him in those situations. He hasn't had many back shoulders/50/50 balls thrown his way on the outside to really make any determination on his contested catch ability. He did some in scrimmages and practice but hasn't had many of those situations in games yet. Will have to be a wait and see type of thing.

Problem is Harris is getting wide open but either the QB is getting pressured or taking off to run instead of getting it to him. He could’ve had at least two touchdowns against Ole Miss.

All the more reason to expect Lane makes sure Sam gets to Harris on his 1st or 2nd read.

The real disappointment has been Jayce Brown, this guy was supposed to be our #1 WR recruit from the portal, and he has been flat out invisible so far.

Had two first down catches last week and they never went back to him. They gotta get him involved.

This. He might have had a couple missed opportunities for some plays he could’ve made a tough catch on, but he would probably have another 100 yards and 2 TD’s if he just had the ball come his way when he was wide open.
Someone compared him to Nic Anderson. The difference is we force fed Anderson the ball, we aren’t even looking at Harris.
