His scholarship counted towards the '12 class.

Brazil is only a RB because he doesn't have a position. You really think this is the kind of guy Les wants in his offense?

So Brazil can't play RB and Les doesn't want him in his offense but he played RB in his first game as a true freshman?

I'm not saying we're screwed from the mistake, just that it was dumb. How some of you can't admit that is beyond me.

There's really no point in arguing anymore. According to you everyone will jump ship because it seems that way, players that have played at RB are only there because they have no other position, everything that can go wrong will go wrong, and putting our eggs in the LF basket won't hurt us, but it's still a mistake.

And also UF wasn't really playing for the east until UGA suffered injuries, so LSU better come to play.

You haven't proven it was a mistake by bringing up Georgia since we have the same number of backs. How you can't admit that is beyond me.

I wasn't in on that whole pack on the inside scoop with RSJ.

Dude runs a 5.1 40 and will be a blocking TE before it's said and done anyway.

I know, just like I'm not saying we're on the decline for 6 years like you keep saying.

I just pointed out the article where an SEC coach (who knows a shite ton more than any of us) said it about this year's team and is so far right. I also pointed out next year could be a real struggle with a new offense and a still young defense.

Other than that, you're making shite worse than it is in your head for some reason.

I agree about RSJ. Dude will not be a factor at all for A&M even when he's healthy. I saw him play in person several times. MEh describes his game.

The fact is we have had more RBs than we knew what to do with and still have a talented stable.

A little too close of a comparison?

What does 1 gut from Curtis, 7 years ago have to do with a guy at St Aug now?

Here's a thought maybe you should consider. The coaches know more about the situation than the fans and general public do. So while you may see it as a risk that the kid could sign elsewhere, maybe they have assurances or reason to believe he won't?

I know one thing, we used all those scholarships on some damn good defensive linemen and cornerbacks

Well, hold on. The defense has certainly declined year over year, but the offense has dramatically improved during that same stretch. We're 5-1 and ranked in the Top 10. Our offense appears to be legitimately elite. I don't know if you can say the cited coach "is so far right."

It just seems like our players always leave early

Like Mettenberger, Loston, Barrow?

while Bama's stay.

You mean like Trent Richardson, Mark Ingram, Julio Jones, Donta Hightower who all left after 3 years, or maybe Fluker, who left as a RS Jr like minter, Montgomery, Mingo and Logan?

quote:

Just seems that way

You can always find something to support your view, espeically if it is a negative view.

quote:

Hopefully it is a 1 year thing

Half the guys that left early, were 4 year players that had redshirted as freshman. If anything, this should show what a waste RSing is unless a player is hurt.

Bama gets their key players back most years. McCarron, Barrett Jones, Eddy Lacy, CJ Moseley, Jesse Williams.

so Richardson, Julio and Hightower weren't key players?

ETA: Mingo, Montgomery and Logan were all draft eligible in 2012, but came back FYI. But no, no key players ever return to LSU.

quote:

think the reason for the mass exodus last year was players unhappy with choking to Bama twice in a row.

Now here is a rational and objective statement if I've ever seen one

6 players (Faulk, Ford, logan, Mingo, Minter (who had already graduated) and Montgomery) passed on playing for free for a 5th year in lieu of getting paid because they lost to Alabama twice

Please, God, just make Moustache the LSU Head Coach. We will be perfect on every play, never make a mistake, win every game and, best of all, he won't have time to post on TD.
