We’re losing the best qb and best wr duo in the country this year….Kelly kept saying we need 3 years, but next year feels like a rebuild…

Cupboards are finally full in Baton Rouge. Rebuilt the disaster we were left with after O.

Can’t call it a rebuild without knowing who the QB is

I realize that’s the hope, but what would the 2023 team have looked like without Daniels, Nabors, and Thomas? Because that’s what we’ll be in 2024, just a year older.

1. We will be better defensively. The young guys got some experience this year and there will be new coaches. If Wingo and Smith come back the d line next year could be what it was supposed to be this year.

2. O line and RBs will be really, really good

3. I expect with a full offseason as #1, Nuss will make a big jump. He won’t be JD be he pro won’t have to be

3. Schedule is not as daunting as it looks. USC plays defense like we did this year, UCLA isn’t very good, Bama, Ole Miss, Oklahoma at home plus Florida, Vandy and South Carolina.

It’s going to be Nuss…and I’m not knocking our guys. But Seems a little illogical to think losing the should be heisman and should be Biletnikoff winner won’t put us a step back

As great as Daniels and the WRs were, we need to replace Daniels 1000+ rushing yards. Nuss could be great, but he’s not going to do that.
Jackson is a key guy for the offense next year. Holly could be important.

Hate all you want, but Nuss will still be the starter.

There’s a 100% chance they go portal shopping. Question is what is the quality of that QB

Which goes back to my original statement. You don’t know who the QB will be

Sure we don’t “know”. But it’s Nuss until someone else is on campus.

If you are projecting a rebuild with Nuss in mind, that’s even more reason to think he’s not the guy

There actually isn't. Any QB good enough to beat out Nuss will only come with a guarantee to start. Especially if they have little eligibility left. That won't happen. Ones who will come will be expecting to become the backup and maybe beat out Rickie. Though they may avoid that to not push out Underwood. The backup situation behind Nuss is no different from JD year 1 and if he's as bad as you idiots think it wasn't better in year 2 either. Nor did "competition" get brought in to "push" JD.

Next year will be a steep dropoff from this year--especially on defense, which is hard to believe.

Wait, why don’t you think that could happen

Because unlike you who seems to be racist and braindead I can grasp that a guy with 1 or 2 years to play won't come to a school and risk their entire future to not start. You seem to forget when JD came here his stats were trash and Burrow was a backup. Neither would beat out Nuss going into next year. You'd need someone proven and experienced which ain't happening.

Lol Nuss is what Myles Brennan was when burrow & Daniels came in from their respective programs. There was never a serious competition in either situation. Both guys were basically promised to start coming in. Everything else was a formality

Except Nuss is nothing like Brennan at all. Brennan had washed out when JD was brought in. Brennan also had 2 years where he did start and got injured. At least you're now acknowledging that a proven QB will only come with a promise to start.
