How many TDs did he run for against UF....and one was called down, which he wasn't. Jefferson does bring something to the offense....the defense has to account for him. With that said...Lee should get the majority of the snaps.

So Lee drives em down the field, and JJ gets the glory with the short TD runs. I wonder if this will cause any animostiy between the two of them.

I gotcha

I want to see some wildcat but that doesn't mean JJ shouldn't be our running qb
3-5 snaps at Wildcat is all I want to see, if it fails miserably then we never have to talk about it again....

Yeah, let's put any one of those at the QB position to let the obvious happen...or let Jefferson do it and you really don't know. F*&^%$ retard
Please tell me how many passes JJ has attempted inside the 10 yard line this year? I promise you opposing coaches know this stat. It's called scouting, and getting tendencies on your opponent. Everyone knows that Les Miles will not let JJ throw another red zone interception. Just because Miles is too stubborn to let Shepard, or others, run the Wildcat and throw the ball out of it, doesn't mean it can't be done. Even Alabama had a WR throw a TD pass out of the Wildcat vs. Florida. We are the only team in the country too stubborn to put the ball in the hands of our playmakers.

Just from reading the rant....it doesn't seem like JJ is getting any glory.

I guess some of u did not watch the game sober. Jl drives the length of the field then JJ gets in close to the goal line. That is not a bad idea however if it wasn't for JL we would be the same old offense that has been bad most of the year.
If Lee is fine with it than why the hell should we care?

yurintroubl did this one on the fark board...

lsu's 2 qb system will be good for keeping opposing teams in the game...trying the wildcat with shep, ware, or randle makes too much sense, so you won't see that happening.
les keeping lee out of action up until the last couple of games was pure genius though. it pretty much showed how stupid a lot of lsu fans really are.

About to be 7-0 and still negative as ever. Keep up the good work.
Maybe you should stick to playing on the OT

Uh huh but everyone in the country watching the game knew the fake was on v UF. However, if Shep lined up as kicker we would have not converted most likely.

Skilless, you love to put words in others mouth. No one thinks it was good keeping Lee out. We know Les was being hard headed but he's playing now and we just beat UF. I'm quite sure you had us losing that game. So, at least be happy we made the change and won at the swamp.
I don't want you to love the Hat, just fear it.

Les is just ecstatic we're finally moving the chains... he probably wont want to do anything different.
I dont think he realizes the potential of this team. Why stop there?
A little bit of Lee has gotten us quite a bit better. Stands to reason that even more Lee might get us even "more better" lol
We raelly need to see RS getting some handoffs on sweeps and in on some screen action as a RB.
Dude needs 7-10 touches.

choctaw, i've never liked les miles coaching style, but i always pull for the team...looks like les may finally have somewhat of a pulse on this time management thing though.

I really don't want to defend not playing him more b/c I think more is what is needed. However, I think he's keeping the pressure off Lee by doing it. Sorta like the begining of '08 with Hatch.

playing him in the beginning and middle of the game makes for a much more interesting end of the game.

I thought about that... and i cant complain about it. Unless of course by doing so JJ gives the game away. That would suck.
The flip side however, im not sure this makes sense. Against UT, JJ is in and we end up in 3rd and 20, so they put Lee in to try to get the 1st down. Thats not exactly keeping pressure off.
Then hes gone to Lee twice for late drives to win the game in consecutive weeks. HUGE pressure. Im sure there are other instances too.
My point is, if Miles is trying to take that approach, hes not succeeding!

I'm not saying he's doing it right but could be the intent. Having JJ in at the end of the half v UF didn't make sense either.

You are an idiot lacking basic football knowledge if you think Jefferson is not effective an ANY way.
He is a threat to run, simply put. So when lining up in the gun from the 5 yard line, the play could go several directions with several options.
1. Jefferson could do a play action bootleg, qb draw, etc. With the defense keyed on Ridley, a good delay or play fake could open up a huge lane for him. Lee is not a threat to run here.
2. On such a play action bootleg or rollout, Jefferson could easily lob a td pass to a tight end or wide out who is possibly uncovered by a defense gearing up to stop a run.
But with Lee, we could easily just pound it in there for a couple yards every play. Yep...just like we did on 3rd and short before we attempted the epic fake field goal.
There's a reason people run the wildcat. There's a reason people prefer running qbs. It's harder to defend.

Any one of the multi-talented RB's or WR's at LSU could do the same thing. Florida wasn't scared to run 2 different guys at QB in the Wildcat package. There best offense was the Wildcat package. Shepard, Ward, Randle.... all of them would bring more to the table as a "running QB" than our current starting QB.
this X 100000000
Shep should get all the snaps that JJ is stealing...
JJ isnt stealing snaps from Jlee anymore he is stealing them from Shep and Ware...
