They just had a segment where Hurdle talked to 3 boys from the SW team (New Orleans) and he introduced them saying “they are all from the Boot, Louisiana” as he through up a L.

Cool to see others outside of the state refer to us as the Boot. I’m sure it has something to do with how LSU markets the flagship.

They’re from River Ridge, which is Jefferson, not New Orleans. They are Jefferson’s Eastbank team.

And Louisiana has been shaped like a boot and referred to as, for a long time.

That started with LSU, yes.

In districts and states combined, Eastbank outscored its opponents 79-0. ... Eastbank threw three shutouts in three state tournament games, outscoring its opponents 46-0. ... This is the first time a team from the city of River Ridge is appearing in the LLWS. It's the fourth city from Louisiana to produce a LLWS team, joining Alexandria, Lake Charles and Lafayette. ... River Ridge, a suburb of New Orleans, is located 11 miles west of the city.

Which is not New Orleans. What’s your point?

They’re actually out of Big Easy and rec’d at Little farms, both in Jefferson. And Eastbank is Jefferson’s all-star team, not NORD.

I was just repeating what the guys on ESPN said. They said New Orleans. It’s the biggest city and only 11 miles away. Let’s not split hairs here.

I’m just telling where the kids and parents are proud of being from.
But I get it, ESPN doesn’t know the difference.

And not all those kids are from East Jefferson parish. Got a sprinkling of dudes from outlying areas. Hope they can pull it off!

River Ridge

Home of John Curtis. It’s kind of South of Kenner.

East..and 10 blocks. Which is about a mile from Kenner. Kenner runs to Jeff Hwy, Which Curtis is on.

ESPN is better off saying they’re from Kenna Bruh
But they have their own all-star team and are not Eastbank JPRD

I just think everyone likes saying their from New Orleans, when they live in another city near it.

this is because you can tell someone from out of state you’re from nola and they know immediately where you hail from. If you say kenner, you need to spend time explaining where kenner is in relation to the nearest city they have heard of. It’s just more efficient

Ever met someone from Santa Clarita, CA?? Prob not, they just say they’re from L.A.

This is WRONG... the team in the LLWS is a private (travel ball) team. Has nothing to do with JPRD.

At that age JPRD doesn’t have a Parish team, each playground competes in a district tourney and the playground that wins will advance to a state tournament. From there they will play in a regional and then the World Series

Also, unless it’s changed, JPRD doesn’t participate in Little League, they’re in Dixie Youth

That and in Texas 11 miles aint shite. I live in Cypress Texas. If you want to send me a letter or anything else through the US postal service, UPS, FedEx, DHL or any other courier or come to my house you will send it or come to a Houston address. I don't live in Houston but I live in Houston.

My question is how is a team from Louisiana in the southwest? Why not south?

No it isn’t. They played 12 little league rec games. All these kids played travel too but not on same team.
