Little league is a private league unaffiliated with the parish which chooses all star teams from that program. It’s their 12u team that is competing at the WS right now.

Jeff parish has a separate recreation system. Girard’s 11-12 all star team won Jefferson parish East Bank, the Louisiana regional tournament, the Louisiana state tournament and went to the World Series. That team competed in the Dixie Youth organization.

Both East Bank Little League and Girard have kids that play for the same travel teams. One team, the Nola Renegades, has several players on the Little League team and the Girard team.

Forgive my ignorance, but llws east bank is a travel team? That is, they are not an allstar team of an area league? This stuff was easier in the 80s.

Because most people in the country have a general idea where New Orleans is. Nobody outside of sela knows where river ridge is. It’s marketing. Nothing more.

Competed in the DYB 12U World Series. They must have been playing in the Majors division. The Ozone division was won by Monroe. My team beat them the first day of the DYB World Series 8-5. Played them a second time later in the week and they beat us 3-0.

Very good team.

This correct. Jefferson Parrish participates in Dixie youth. The LLWS is a travel ball team

Exactly! There are countless number of “cities/communities” in the Houston area that people, when traveling and asked, where are you from, will reply Houston.

Because everyone knows where Houston is located and no one outside of Houston has a clue where Humble, Kingwood, Spring, Cypress, The Woodlands etc is located.
