She had a massive social media following before she ever stepped foot on campus. She’s had limited competitive success at LSU and barely competed at all this season. Her endorsement income has almost nothing to do with being a college athlete and even less to do with her affiliation with LSU.

She was an Olympic level gymnast before coming to LSU. My point wasn’t to denigrate her abilities, only to point out that her accomplishments so far at LSU have not been at such a star level that they would explain her following on social media. She was an All-American on one event in 2021. That unquestionably helped the team, but it was one of 40 individual All-American slots awarded that season. Still top notch, but not worthy of grand scale notoriety and fame.
