Oregon State laid down a nice bunt 1st pitch of game & Coomes wasn't ready for it...not sure...he got on base 3 times vs the 'Noles.

IF you are gonna do that then Coomes needs to replace Jordan at DH

This.

And Paperski needs to bat behind Diechman.

Lil sweet has actually contributed to this team offensively and defensively. Beau Jordan not so much.

No it wasn't it was hit in the gap and when Watson field the ball the base runner was about to round third. Center fielders cutoff is the first baseman the ball almost hit the mound right where Coomes should have been.

I understand you're just speculating but if that's the reason why, that's pretty weak.

Interested to hear PM's thought process on this move.

If Coomes made mental errors at 1st, why is he not in the lineup as DH. Also, Jordan struggling in the OF didn't send him to the bench completely, he has DH'd most of the year.

Coomes >>>> Jordan at the plate this year.

Our DESIGNATED HITTER has the 2nd least amount of RBIs, the third least amount of walks, and the second least runs scored. Great move MArinara

Jordan still in the batting order is a major head scratcher. How do you have a DH that can hit? DH is meant for a good hitter that's a liability in the field. Beau sucks at both.

Poche pitches to contact. Need your best defense tonight. Thus, Slaughter.

I agree that the throw wasn't high, and Coomes was late getting there, but the runner was no where near rounding third base. I was there in the outfield with a view of everyone. Kramer had his hands up waiting for the throw to come back into second base.

People will tend to ignore you when you make up stuff. Batting .276 does not equal "hasn't done shite all year"

So everyone complains that Kramer is playing like shite and can't hit, and your solution is to put him in the spot where we need someone to "protect" Diechman? They'd just walk Deichman and pitch to Kramer until he proves he can hit.

Also, not everyone can bat leadoff. Freeman has struggled there, our best 2 leadoff guys all season have been Robertson & Duplantis. I do like the idea of moving Watson up to get more ABs. And I suspect the reason we don't have Coomes at DH is in case we need him to come in for Slaughter. My ideal line-up would be

Duplantis (great w/ guys on base, but KR & CF haven't been getting on)
Freeman
Watson (W/ Deichman struggling, Watson may be a better clean-up)
Deichman
Pap
Coomes (DH)
Smith
Slaughter
Robertson (IMO we've played our best w/ a speedy guy at the 9 spot)

W/ that said, I would not screw w/ the line-up that much at this point in the season. If we were going to tinker with it this much, we should have started in the SECT.

Why has Chris Reid only gotten 22 AB's this season after the year he had last year?

His OB% is not bad.

I'd like to know this myself. Is he hurt? Dog house? Stinks out loud in practice?

Weird Holton is playing LF today for FSU and the CF as well as Holton have less than 50 ABs
