I've been saying the same thing the whole thread, that Linehan is a knowledgeable coach that is coming here to do more than just learn.
I said (IMO) he came here to re-boot.... an extremely smart move. And I'd imagine that seeing Brady go from a college GA to an NFL OC in about 3 years was "enlightening".

1. Your post is more about what he gains

2. You just skip over what he brings

3. He’s coming to LSU to learn an offense we just learned?

I assume that posters here either know Linehan's experience, or took 20 seconds to Google it.

And an offense LSU "just learned", then demolished most of the top college football programs with it.

Yeah, if I'm a smart NFL out-of-work OC I'll crawl on glass to learn that shite from LSU

Literally no one who’s watched any of his offenses would say he’s a great or good hire. The only ppl pumping this guy have no idea who he is and have never watched him.

I’d try and learn from the guy who taught us and has an NFL job but that’s just me.

If I wanted To pass a class I’d go to the person who teaches it not the guy who took it last semester.

Scott Linehan oversaw one of the most high-powered offenses in the NFL for most of his five seasons as Detroit Lions offensive coordinator, and some of his former players aren't surprised that he's doing it again with his current team, the Dallas Cowboys.

He was pretty damn good in Detroit.

He could be a good asset if we keep it wide open like it think we all believe it will be.

He will operate from the LSU 2019 offense, and it should be plenty to win the SEC, IMO.

Now, if he somehow runs his own passing offense, then it is a very bad hire. I can't imagine O allowing that. Nor Linehan attempting to do that.

It’s what he knows. Why hire someone to help with your offense that ran a failed offense? We already had one as OC. You hire someone to help your OC that runs a failed offense to bring something different and creative.

It might workout, I’m not saying it can’t but that’s speculation. What I know is he’s not a very good offensive coach.

Good enough to coach in the NFL for YEARS. LSU didn’t hire him as the OC regardless, it’s insane anyone is melting over this hire.

If you wanna fawn over a young guy that knows RPOs and the Spread.....well look at Ed hiring Tettleton

I’m Dallas Linehan was hamstrung by Jerry Jones and the politics of the team. I promise you he didn’t get full reign to do what he wanted. We’re getting a gift.

Don’t care about any of that but thanks for asking. He’s not good, I’ve watched him for years you haven’t yet like the other sheeple you’re gonna lecture me on what you don’t know. Orgeron could’ve hired Les Miles and youdve said “great hire” because there’s no reasoning to your argument it’s all faith and emotion based.

Every ballplayer on the team (except the Freshmen) know their assignments. E knows it. Brennan knows it. There are playbooks for all players and coaches.

Brady didn't invent the offense. He brought it to LSU. It is still there.

DJ Mangus is still on staff as well. I heard he will play a bigger role this year as well

At this point, I swear he gets on here just to argue. He's said numerous times that no one is allowed to give him his opinion (I do agree with that) but almost immediately he'll do an about face and start telling those posters who disagree with his take on things what their opinion is. If they still disagree, he starts with the insults. He's done it several times in this thread.

Talk about football, fine but why he turns pretty much every thread he makes into a big bickering thing is just odd. Goes back to the above paragraph. People will disagree, they might agree but not as strongly as he does on things. It’s how people are.

I have no idea why the guy turns every thread into the same thing.

Come to think of it, I did hear many of the defensive players playbooks ended up in garbage cans. Some were taken by employees as mementos/keepsakes.

Did not hear of any offensive players playbooks in circulation. LOL
