I just thought with Chavis coaching the Lbs personally we would be ok, but it clearly hasn't been the case. Wisconsin linebackers who aren't more athletic than ours were in the backfield making plays. This shows its a mentality that's needed more than anything.

I watched their line movement, and they were great. Their stunts and run blitzes were like they knew the play. I think going to more WR's and success in the passing game, had them on their heels, and gave LSU the advantage.

Lamar was consistently popping people at the line of scrimmage. Don't know what you're talking about.

We bash Welter every game and seems like there is never any improvement during the season. Beckwith will be starting by the fl. game hopefully. Its really starting to show that Chavis is not a big recruiter. We have no-one in this class and kwon is gone after this year but on the positive side so is Welter

Our LB core has lots of promise and they're still young. I'm assuming Beckwith and Garret aren't huge recruiting pickups?

Jesus Christ. They are not young. It's the same excuse anytime a unit is average or below. I wish they were better, but they aren't right now.

Beckwith was not recruited as Lb and is not a true lb. C.Garrett is the only big pickup at Lb in two years. That's not good recruiting.

So four juniors are young? Practicing and playing for three years is inexperienced? Retard.

The defense struggles with fundamentals early on. No Squeezing, bad Scraping, Poor containment and leverage. Seems once adjustments are made, they actually play faster and more disciplined. Which makes me believe it's simplified.

I also don't find Welter to be very talented. The defense lacks football players. Athletes, all over the place, but they need to be blended In with Football players to be a better unit.

Beckwith, Debo, Kwon and Feist should be the main lbs. With Welter in long yardage situations.

People keep saying we don't have talent at lb or they are young. Bull. We HAVE the talent they just aren't on the field.

I agree Omega but the question remains why aren't they on the field?

Debo doesn't get enough playing time to make a huge difference.

Beckwith lacks that killer instinct. He needs to attack the line of scrimmage.

Feist, I love what he did in the spring against our 1st teamers. Now he's back to 3rd string. I don't get it.

Kwon was great in second half. Need two more backers on the field like him.

Very funny...but stupid.

you CAN NOT do worse

Ohhhh, yes you can! That's why he's playing. Look, there is no doubt Welter is not up to par for an LSU MLB. But he's not as bad as you make him out to be. Also, the coaches, who have way more data than us, have determined that playing Welter gives us our best chance. These guys do this for a living and are among the most successful in the game.

Example: Wisconsin fans were complaining about how stupid their coaches were for not playing Stave in the fourth quarter. What the fans didn't know - and the coaches did - is that Stave was psychologically unable to play. Not so stupid anymore, are they?

Maybe our coaches tried Kwon at MLB. Maybe they were appalled at the chaos that ensued because no one was in the right gaps. Hell, I don't know - maybe Kwon knows his NFL future is at OLB, and he told the coaches he'd transfer before playing MLB. Or maybe Kwon committed to LSU based on promises to that effect. We don't friggin know, but the coaches do. Get it?

So Miles should fire Chavis?

For the past 2 or 3 years of have said that we completely missed on recruiting DTS following the year Freak came in. Now it shows. Lacouture and Thomas start this year bc they are the only ones who played any snaps last year. And last year they played bc they were the only backups. doesn't mean that they are good. LSU hasn't had such a situation in last 10 years at DT

MLB is a tough position to learn. We've had several that didn't really produce until their jr n sr yrs. that may be where we are with KB. Idk.

I just don't think Welter is very good, but he plays anyway.

I noticed in one play of the replay that the other smaller Wisky back dragged Welter about 3 yards after contact.

Folks make mistakes. Miles/Chavis are great coaches, great recruiters, but they do make mistakes.

And playing Welter is one of them. Period.

Go re-watch the game and bring some actual facts to this thread or please move along.

Completely agree. Rewatched the game and saw some really good signs. Having Bain back on the line should help too.

Manhandling was the word that came to mind while watching the game. But after re-watching parts of it twice, I feel like confusion played just as big a role in the struggles on both sides, especially the O Line. Wisconsin's motion and lack of predictability in the run game took them a long time to get a handle on. And when you get back on your heels and start reacting, it's easier to get pushed around.

If you watch, the front 7, especially the LBs, did a much better job filling gaps and staying disciplined as the 2nd half wore on. It would have been nice to see them adjust faster, but as long as they can get their heads straight before we play State, we should be ok.

It's a hate welter bandwagon circle jerk. The douchebags come in here and literally wank eachother the whole thread about how a specific part of our team is shite and seemingly convince eachother so. Our whole D Line got it's shite pushed in and didn't allow our LB core to move around but it's a lack of talent around the LB position despite it being one of the deepest and fastest we've had in years. Then they'll downvotes anyone who disagrees with their little group so they look like they know what they're talking about. /rant. Quit obsessing over 18-23 year olds who are doing what they love while you sit on your couch eating Cheetos booing them when they miss an assignment.

But Danielle is good because this board says so and his arms are huge right? I'm assuming Rasco is good because he's like a 8th year senior that's contributed every year he's here?

Lacatoure and Thomas are currently more talented than anything we have on the bench. Thomas is playing with a freaking torn Bicep for crying out loud. You people absolutely baffle me.
