I think people are missing the big picture here. Knowing what we know now I think it's impressive as he'll what Les got out of JR when he was here when no one else can get anything out of the kid.
That was Jimbo Fisher's coaching. He also made All-SEC QBs out of Josh Booty, Rohan Davey, and Matt Mauck.
We have been witnessing Les' influence the past few years. It is a big difference.

I hope he turns it around in football, but it looks like his chance is quickly diminishing.
Regardless he has plenty of money to have a great life and family so he should be fine. If he fricks that up it is just sad.
I can't imagine what it must be like to be that rich at a young age.

Check out yards after the catch. Great receivers making great catches, but unable to get any yards after because of the position of their bodies on the catch ala on the ground.
Wow, the guy throws for nearly 70% and this is the excuse you give for it?
Did you actually think that through before you typed it?

I don't know what is wrong with him besides being a poor performer. And if you can't feel sorry for the man, at least don't kick him while he is down. Clearly he has some serious problems, but he has his whole life before him. He is only 25. It is mean to kick him when he is down. Has he harmed anyone but himself? He doesn't owe us anything.

Strategic default. You know what happened to housing prices in Cali. I bet he has a nice stash of cash and is going to retire young and healthy. Maybe he smarter than most give him credit for.

Why do people keep saying this is sad?????
There are many sad things that happen in this world. A millionaire that has to get a regular job, like the rest of us, is not sad.

Les Miles must be a motivation genius to keep this kid playing at LSU.

I think what is astonishing in all this is that the LSU coaches were able to get as much as we did out of the guy. I mean at this point its obvious he's an idiot. Someone here must have had a strong hold over him due to the lack of purple drank incidents and completion ratio.

Fail.

It was not the Lsu coaches who got him to play hard, it was his desire to get paid! I knew jafarceus was in big trouble when he declined a phone call with Tom Brady and peyton manning arranged by Chris Landry to help Lsu out. Jafarcecus was only out to get paid. From the move Jerry Maguire, people don't realize the pressure that 52 million comes with, Classic!

it's sad for me personally because I liked watching the guy play and was hoping to see him be a good NFL QB for like 10-12 yrs.
but in the grand scheme, nah, it's not that sad. though it does sound like he's had some issues with his uncle's death, and I hope he can get past those. ultimately, all this is on him.

what? seriously, if an LSU QB is doing bad, where do these stories of a refusal of a phone call/ assistance (see "I heard Brees was gonna tutor JJ)?
I should start a "Lee took a phone call from Booty after Auburn 08 and it made him throw INTs" rumor.

I really hate to see where JR will be in a few years. Sad, sad, sad.
