I know there is a recruiting board but I believe these are no longer prospective recruits so we can discuss in the rant. Who is a risk to not make it to campus?

I just wanna know what effect NIL will have on some of these highly ranked kids going to college rather than going pro

I've seen Romero falling out of the first round in a recent mock draft
I think he actually wants to be here and we can offer him a deal to come.

Do we have some pitchers expected to be weekend starters?

I believe we have 2-3 pitchers that throw in the mid to upper 90s so I would expect they come in with Dutton and Taylor next year and compete for the job is chasen shores makes to campus I’ll be surprised dude has nasty stuff

Snelling and Crawford and goners. Toman is likely gone as well.
Romero seems like a option to get to campus. We have 3 options at catcher, 2 are 6’4 and can rake. C Jared Jones will be a draft eligible sophomore so that may help us hang on. Top player in La Gavin Guidry is also a draft eligible sophomore.
3 pitchers are 6’4 and sit in the 90s. Shores will be tough to hang on to at 6’7 240 and hitting 98. Noot, Kennedy, and misorowski are Ps to keep an eye on.

Fwiw, Matt Moscona said he was told by a MLB scout there was “zero chance Romero makes it to campus”.
So that means I like our chances

It’s all about the money boys.

If LSU were aggressive enough with NIL you would think they would be pretty successful. Because college ball in the SEC has some major advantages over playing in the Minor leagues.

Scone was prolly told that months ago. I pulled 6 mocks last night and not 1 had him in the first.

Yeah romero is much more likely to make it campus today.

I actually don't think NIL will be much of a factor. Most of these kids are not debating if they should go pro and take a $100,000 bonus or go to campus. They are debating life changing money or go to campus. If they go to campus they are betting on themselves and that the money will be there after they play LSU ball. Will they be the next Crews or the next Mo Hampton?
I believe NIL could help us with the draft eligible players and the portal. Players like Dugas, Jobert or maybe even Doughty next year. It could be a big factor in the portal. If you are a great player at a small school and LSU offers you a little spending money to come play a year for them, you take that offer.

Kling, Jones, and Guidry are all going to be draft eligible sophomores and that helps LSU’s chances big time if they don’t get their asking number.

And people were crying for Johnson's head before he even got a class in here.

2023 Starting LSU baseball team:
Catcher: Neal
DH: Jones
INFIELD: 1B Morgan, 2B Guidry, SS Romero, 3B Thompson
OUTFIELD: LF Pearson, CF Crews, RF Kling

College baseball beware, Dynasty is upon us.

So jobert is gonna sit the bench after hitting estimated 20 homers in his first sec season?

That’s wrong. NIL is definitely having an effect. It’s obvious that paying people money to do something will result in a higher likelihood of them doing it.
