Technically, his post reads 5 is less than the number of tds they will score. He just did it out of order.

I doubt anyone thinks the run/pass ration will change much. But that's not really the 'play book'. I fully expect more seam routes by the TEs, RB screens, and more creative deep patterns. FB and TEs should always be good outlets as well.

These things combined will transform the 'play book' and offense as a whole.

I think the OP doesn't understand the difference between the play book and the offensive philosophy.

The philosophy won't change, but the plays themselves will.
We will run a lot of the same plays.

Main difference will be less two man routes that end up in same area of field and less one man routes. Cam designs plays to have deep, intermediate, short, and safety valve options. It will be noticeable.

He said himself it would be the first time our opponents have seen this offense and it gives us a big advantage.

No. I agree with this post. You will see same formations. Mostly same routes, there will be differences... But the main difference will come from execution.

We'll be less predictable. He also likes vertical passing rather than the horizontal crap we've been throwing the past few years. As mentioned above, we're not paying him to teach fundamentals, we're paying him to score points.

I remember Les saying "We're a predictable bunch" referring to LSU's offense. He said it like he was proud of it - which would have been fine if we were killing it on offense or were even average the last number of years...

The best teams run the ball a lot, so I think we'll still run a lot. Les has that mentality and I'm a fan of that. But the predictability of our running and passing game has to change. If it doesn't look different - it won't work. The SEC is too good to just think you'll beat teams with good fundamentals. It helps, but you have to keep defenses guessing.

I don't think it will be totally revamped because I don't think Cam could come in and put his entire program in place as a first year OC who didn't recruit any of the guys who will be playing.

This offense will be noticeably different from the start and will continue to evolve as more and more is installed. I am excited to see more passing to the backs and TEs. I like the naked rollout off of play action. It alone is going to lead to big plays. I think that we will see more running plays out of the 3 and 4 WR sets. Running more plays out of the same formation will make us less predictable and effective. It is going to be fun to watch. I hope we aren't disappointed.
