As an example and a starting point, if you pitch in a game today, then pitch in a game again tomorrow, is the pitching with no rest or pitching with one day of rest? Most would say that is pitching with no rest. So, if you extrapolate that out (pitch today, don't pitch tomorrow, pitch the next day is one day's rest, for example), you see the number of days between starts is the number of days of rest in the accepted method used by all baseball staff and media.

Alright, I just think it’s stupid.
It’s semantics.
Okay, but it really doesn't matter. 5 days rest (or 6 days rest according to you) is still short rest for a college pitcher.

A day is a 24 hour period. From Sunday at 8:00 pm to Friday at 8:00 pm is 120 hours. 120 hours = 5 days.
Some of you are counting full calendar days.
Just get to your point.
You can argue the semantics of it, if you want. But, the underlying rest is what's important.
Are you willing to get to your point?

count the day of the game as a rest period
Wellshit.

Maybe, but that’s not what we are discussing. We are discussing how it’s actually counted, lol. It’s not about logic it’s about the way it’s always been done and you are wrong.

As far as I know, you can count the day of the game as a rest period
You can, but that's not how it's done.

You can’t start the clock until the player has 1 sleep
So if he takes a quick power nap after the game he's all set?
Think ive cracked the code, boys!!

Sir, there is nothing "settled" on the rant. It's the Rant. Argue on.

This whole argument feels like arguing with a woman, lol. She is wrong, but somehow tries to convince you that she is right.

THIS IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE. PITCH DAYS DO NOT COUNT.
END OF TOPIC.
END OF TOPIC.

The semantics allow people to describe the actual rest and be referring to the same thing.
You were trying to justify Eyanson throwing on short rest again by trying to change the semantics.
It’s like someone arguing whether a SW wind is from the southwest or to the southwest. In your mind, you think defining it a different way means you can change whether the wind is blowing in or out.

4 don’t count the days pitching.

I do disagree with you on that one, I never considered the day of the game as a day of rest.
Posted on 6/9/25 at 12:57 pm to bhtigerfan
Any pitcher that throws 31-40 pitches must rest for 1 day. Any pitcher that throws 41-50 pitches must rest for 2 days. Any pitcher that throws 51-80 pitches must rest for 3 days. Any pitcher that throws 81-99 pitches must rest for 4 days.
