Brother i have pictures of us at that game but didnt post but wanted to prove the idiot that said there was no marching band on the field wrong lol.

Either way the bands didnt help the field conditions any was my point whether it was pregame or halftime.

Now I can't recall if it was the bands at halftime or pregame but there was a halftime show which had lots of people on the field. Maybe it was a stage out there I can't remember

That field was in bad shape earlier in the week when the champs sports bowl was played there. I remember thinking the field is gonna be a problem.

Legit question years later- how many guys on both teams would have opted out at some point during the game??

What a crappy game that was

I remember seeing pictures after the game with players sunk halfway to the shin in mud. Couldn't find them again when I looked. It's a miracle that there weren't more significant injuries. Maybe the lack of grass stopped some of those cleats from sticking.

Hate the "Crapital 1 Bowl" for this reason, it was such a shitty field

I remember watching the game on TV. We got 18” of snow that day here in Utah. I think my neighbors feedlot with the snow and manure was a better field then what they played in.

I just remember yelling at the tv about Les clock management, oddly that was not the only game I yelled at the tv about the clock during Les tenure.

As a band member at this game, I can help settle this lol.

We marched pregame, and at halftime we stood on the field in an arc and played our show without marching, while grounds crew pick up large chunks of grass around us.

This was covered on page 1. Not sure why everyone is freaking out about it.

I guess you can't read very well....I said the bands did not MARCH (perform a halftime show). Both bands stood still (the bowl officials prevented them from marching their shows) and played their music!
