this. not sure how to handle this if SEC hands out punishment but the first thing i'd do is to require them to state clearly why we being punished. what did we do and what proof they have. if they can't answer that we sue skanky and the SEC. maybe appealing it would be a better way to do it.

Didn't mean to shite post. Poorly written on my part. Apologies.
I was just trying to say that the only "rule" that LSU "broke" was scaring the SEC members that we are going to be REALLY good in the new CFB environment. The Clemson game (on field and off) sent the rest of SEC into a tizzy.

Who is cowering??? Of course, we didn't break any rules.
I'm not for accepting ANY punishment. I would rather us leave the SEC than agree to a suspension of Kiffin.
Logically, I think the silence is because they are negotiating some bullshite compromise...probably some sort of fine.

No punishment. Zero, nothing, nada. frick their fines or suspensions. Zero rules were broken and LSU should accept nothing other than a profuse apology for the sec being run by thin skinned arse hats

Their “strategy” was to prevent LSU from any recourse if the SEC decided to enact any fines or punishments. It was a power play to circumvent all the state court rulings that the NCAA had mostly been losing and the SEC now as well. LSU was a prime target because we went all-in with coaches that other schools despise.
Maybe.
It also seems plausible that it was an attempt to get LSU to screw-up - Goad LSU into filing their own countersuit to the SEC's suit, to nullify the authority to expel that SEC was seeking. If LSU had done that, then the SEC could have said "See they're directly trying to interfere w/ the SEC's ability to govern" and penalties/expulsion may have followed.
This was an attempt to create a violation where none existed.
LSU was calm and cool, refused to bite - "We're not trying to interfere, have your meeting, have your vote."
Because LSU didn't bite, the SEC is forced to shrink their squirrel nuts up & walk away.
I think Moscona is right, nothing more is gonna happen.

Yeah, I see it as bait also.
LSU played it as well as could be. We didn’t roster the players prior to Clemson, filled the roster preventing rostering them this season, had representative attorney in the courthouse yesterday, have provided statements of communications with appropriate dates. Everything the SEC was trying to use against LSU was properly refuted. It’s why it’s likely the Federal case never sees the light of day again and the SEC took the voting for expulsion off the table.

Agreed. I just think Sankey will try to save face by engineering a fine against LSU.
Taking Kiffin's time away from game prep is already punishment.
The whole point of this awful thread is that LSU is perceived as being too good at this modern football stuff. THAT is our real sin. The bogus stuff thrown at us by the SEC and its proxies is just bullshite to smear us in the court of public opinion.
I hope LSU lays this all out formally, but I guess our silence is what's being negotiated right now. Obviously LSU CAN control Lane. You KNOW he would be (deservedly) chirping back if he weren't being restrained.

You aren't willing to admit that LSU has mastered the current state of college football? That's the only admission I was suggesting.

I was just pointing out the real reason LSU was getting treated unfairly. I guess people must have thought we WERE being treated fairly OR that there was good cause to punish LSU. Who knew?
As far as the Ivory-billed Woodpecker, we convinced the experts at US Fish and Wildlife NOT to declare the species extinct. I'm not sure why you think your opinion carries more weight than their legal, binding, expert opinion, but you do you.

Little early to be hitting the bottle even for our standards, no?

Doesn’t mean they still exist. It’s the modern day Sasquatch. That was a good interview you did on YouTube. Props for putting it out there like Bobo did on the discovery channel

It's 5:00 somewhere. I did a bad job of explaining myself.
I thought it was obvious that the real sin we commited was mastering the NIL era of college football...which upsets the rest of the SEC.
