I told you Tommy Banks should have gotten the ball more
"Hey Gordy, Billy Bob from West Monroe here, say man why don't they let Tommy Banks carry the ball more?"

I remember it was kinda' nasty that night; a little breeze and a little drizzling here & there.
Don't remember this, always recall being a very beautiful evening? Rushed the field with couple a buddy's and knelt on the grass in bliss!

Florida did everything they could do to lose that game. We made the plays we needed to make.
I was actually at the Vanderbilt game. It never should have been that close. Vanderbilt scored late, then got two consecutive delay of game penalties after a time out while setting up for the 2 point conversion. Finally attempted an extra point and got it blocked.
Amazing.

I was at Talledaga. Watched the game on a TV hanging outside a big RV. The next day at the race we got LSU chants going during yellow flags

Could be misremembering because I was sick as a dog. I forgot about the couple of guys who walked ALL THE WAY AROUND the stadium to the student section with the flag/sheet that had some bullshite UF painted on it. That guy who came out of the student section & snuck up behind them grabbing it & pulling it into the frenzied students is a goddamned hero!

I was at the Vandy game as well. Hard to believe all those " smart " guys could not get lined up in time, TWICE.
Watching the YouTube of the Banks td, look at the pulling kick out block by Faneca. BOOM!
To those that saw the Chief, I thought the same thing.
Last but certainly not the least, was the shots of Spurrier after OUR big plays.
Good Times.

had tix to the fla game. went to nashville the wk before and refused to drive from ga to BR to see us get our arse whipped. Worked my normal EMS shift, instead. worked a critical motorcycle wreck duting the 4th qtr. had to fly the kid out. sat in the back of the med unit listening to wwl while waiting on the chopper. still kicking myself for not going.

Drove down from Shreveport to go with friends from BR, but they wanted to go to TJ's instead because they predicted a blowout. I went alone and sold the other tickets to some very lucky fans. I have never failed to call those friends every year on the day of the Florida game to rub it in.

Cecil Collins suffered a career ending injury in the game, making it perhaps the worst victory in LSU history.

Yea, the whole team came out of the tunnel looking like no one could beat them that night!

yeah, except UF, I recall being pretty nervous up until actual most beautiful 3 0,s across that clock! I think A Booty had a clutch catch on the sideline that got us to the point of grindingly running out the clock?
