It was the assaults that started the whole thing 100%. There is one person who committed those assaults. Then there are a bunch of idiots who didn’t do what they were supposed to do.

And had those idiots done what they were supposed to do, there would be no sanctions.

So it follows that the sanctions are 100% on said idiots.

The sanctions are about what the school didn’t do, not what Davis did.

We’re in this because a guy was beating up his girlfriend. No manner of reasoning can defy that.

LOL no we’re not.

What sanctions were Oklahoma put under after Joe Mixon socked that chick on campus?

Every player on the team can beat their girlfriends and we’ll avoid sanctions when the school does the right thing.

Did the victim file a complaint with the police?

Weird, the Lawyers always go after the biggest purse, and not the offender. What can they get out of Davis?
Who writes such laws?

The Title IX non-compliance started with the tennis coaches.

The chain of events was started by the player's heinous actions.

Correct, which is why we are looking at sanctions. Officials of the school did not do the right thing, so they are 100% liable under Title IX

Correct again. Which is why players like David are facing criminal charges. Davis didn’t do the right thing, so he is 100% liable under the criminal code.

Two separate offenses. Two separate penalties, for which the two penalized parties are solely and individually responsible.

I don't know if Baylor was officially banned from bowls but the only year they missed a bowl was the year they went 1-11 and for the it takes years to rebuild crowd they were 11-3 and in the Sugar Bowl 2 years later

Interestingly , the NCAA has not issued a final ruling in the Baylor case. All penalties have been self imposed. The speculation is that the NCAA is struggling with how to apply Title IX as it is a Fed law with its own administrative and civil remedies. The Tark v NCAA suit states that the NCAA is a private org with its own rules and not subject to Fed law/the constitution. So the question is can he NCAA use a Fed law as the basis for discipline and if so does it open another can of worms for the NCAA. Will be interesting.
